[They conjure barriers and manifest illusions, the shadows twisting around them, and they head through the dim house to the large sliding doors on the right. The doors move with the gentle application of wind, and besides from the continued weeping interrupted by the occasional sniffle there is no other noise in the room.
This room is more well lit than the front hall and vestibule, with a chandelier hanging above a billiards table and sconces along the wall. The windows in the room are large, even though there's not much light that comes through with how dreary and grey the sky outside is. (Though they can see through this side of the windows, which might come in handy later.)
On top of all of that is a fireplace with a roaring fireplace, and in front of that they can see the source of the weeping. The beast has too long, too thin limbs that end in large, clawed hands and feet, and it has a long neck and canine snout. It has long, golden fur that looks quite a bit like hair, and it is wearing the remains of an elegant dress, seams popped and hemline tattered to make room for its inhuman proportions.
The beast is curled over its hands in front of the fireplace, cradling something as it weeps. It has not noticed them.
