CHARACTER
Name: Akira Kurusu
Canon: Persona 5 Royal, true end
Canon point: Post-game
Age: 17

History:
1. At the beginning of the game, Akira sees a woman being harassed by a drunk man and intervenes to defend her. This man was a notable politician who, after being dunked on by a teenager, frames Akira for assault. Because of this, he’s expelled from his school and forced to relocate and live in the attic of a café on a bed propped up by plastic crates. Had he not gone through this ordeal, he wouldn’t have experienced the Classic Persona Protag journey of forging lasting bonds with strangers and taking a stand against societal corruption.

2. Early on, Akira is confronted with the reality that he’s trapped in an unfair situation with the odds stacked against him. His Shadow (a person’s true self) confronts him with the question of whether he regrets standing up for the woman instead of ignoring her plight. He concludes that doing the right thing and protecting her was not mistake no matter how much it complicated his life, and his determination awakens his Persona: Arsène.

3. Near the end of the game, Akira is given two choices that will alter reality forever. Option one would keep the world largely as it is with people "free" to live their imperfect, painful, and flawed lives, while the other would see the world become a place where everyone lives under the illusion that their lives are perfect and all their dreams have come true. Akira has seen what the latter looks like, has seen how happy his friends appear to be in that ideal world, but makes the difficult decision to reject the false reality. Though he wishes to see people happy and to see society become a more fair place, he doesn’t believe that can be achieved through deception.

Powers:

1. Persona summoning: Works a bit differently in each Persona game, but in P5, the "trigger" that summons the Persona is ripping off one’s metaphorical mask. Or like, you know, ripping your damn face off (also metaphorically.............)

2. The Wild Card: Persona users that hold the Wild Card are able to summon multiple Personas. Those who can do this are special snowflakes who are few and far between. At Akira’s canon point, he can carry a maximum of twelve different Personas, but I’m just going to detail his unique, Akira-only Personas here.

3. Personas themselves use a variety of magical and physical skills. Both Arsène and Satanael are dark-element Personas and reflect Akira’s resolve and personality. I’ve included their skills for Flavor but please feel free to like, not read this shit:

"I am the great thief, Arsène! You need my help once more...? Very well, use my power wisely."

  • Eiha: Weak curse/dark damage to one foe.
  • Cleave: Weak physical damage that slices one foe.
  • Sukunda: Temporarily lowers a foe’s agility.
  • Dream Needle: Weak physical damage to one foe, may render them unconscious.
  • Adverse Resolve: Increases critical hit rate when ambushed by the enemy.

"I am Satanael. You would slay gods to protect the justice you believe in... Very well, I shall once again become your mask."

  • Maeigaon: Strong curse/dark damage to all foes.
  • Megidolaon: Severe almighty (god-flavored) damage to all foes.
  • Survival Trick: Survive an insta-death attack once.
  • Riot Gun: Strong gun damage to all foes.
  • Cosmic Flare: Strong nuclear damage to all foes. Does extra damage if foe is burned, frozen, or shocked. Don’t ask me why nuclear power is an element.
  • Heat Riser: A self-buff that temporarily raises defense, attack, and agility.
  • Unshaken Will: Immunity against all mental ailments/status effects. Automatically applied whenever Satanael is summoned.
  • Victory Cry: Fully recover health and magic after winning a battle. Automatically applied whenever Satanael is summoned.
  • Sinful Shell: A bullet made from the Seven Deadly Sins that can pierce even a god. Yeah. This is special and only used in the final battle.

  • CHARACTER SURVEY
    MANDATORY QUESTIONS
    - Of all the things you own or have owned, what is the most important to you? I’m not a materialistic guy. If I had to name one thing, one very specific thing? The French press Sojiro gave me for Christmas scores pretty high.

    - Where is it you feel most at peace, or most whole? It’s less "where" and more "who," right? But if I had to name a place, Leblanc’s my second home. Nothing beats the smell of coffee and curry in the morning.

    - Describe what gives you the most strength. Promise you won’t laugh? Good. If it weren’t for my friends and the good people in my life, I might’ve given up a long time ago. I owe them all a lot.

    OPTIONAL QUESTIONS
    - What is more important to you: embracing your individuality, or preserving the status quo? No point in compromising on what matters just to blend in with the crowd. I’d rather be myself.

    - Ultimate power comes at the cost of community. Being a part of a community comes at the cost of great power. Which would you choose? Depends on what you’re calling ultimate power. I don’t need to be the strongest guy in the room. Having people in your corner when life gets tough is the real ultimate power.

    - Do you consider the rules and laws to be an important part of society? How so? You want my honest answer? Laws are there for a reason, but that doesn’t mean they’re applied fairly. A corrupt cop’s gonna screw you no matter what the law says. I’m on team police reform.

    - Do you forgive easily, or do you hold grudges? Depends. People make mistakes, apologies go a long way. But if you’ve really screwed up, I’ll remember it.

    - Name one thing you refuse to compromise on, and why. High quality coffee beans. One of the worst things a person can to do themselves is drink crappy coffee.

    - What is your one wish or greatest desire? I want to see the world change for the better. I know that’s a big ask, but society won’t change until people step up and make their voices heard. There’s more to life than having money and power.

    - What piece of classical literature best represents you, and why? You can’t call yourself a fan of the classics until you’ve read To Kill a Mockingbird. The world’s not black and white and neither are people and their morals. My own experience being falsely accused of a crime taught me that.

    - What animal would you want to be? A sleek black cat, nya. Deceptively charming at a glance with super sharp claws, meow. Name a more purrfect animal. You can’t.

    - What is your favorite color? Why? Red’s a classic. It's too loud to wear on its own, but it's a solid accent color.

    - What is your favorite flower? Why? Whatever Haru’s growing at any given time, honestly. Peonies, roses, irises... They all look good in a bouquet. Spider lilies are pretty badass too.

    - What arcana best represents you? Why? This one’s cheating. Come, sit down and I’ll tell you the story of the impudent Fool who ventured The World over...

    - Cats or dogs? I’m contractually obligated to say cats. Please understand.

    1. His planner. Gotta take them notes and make them plans.
    2. His phone… What kind of teenager would he be if he wasn’t fiddling with his phone all the time?
    3. A pen. One whole pen.
    4. His (airsoft) gun.
    5. Dagger.

Sage Crest: Up to y’all where his cutie mark is!!

    CHARACTER
    Name: Bruno Madrigal
    Canon: Encanto
Canon point: During Casita's (the house) collapse. He'll get pulled in before he can escape into the jungle.
    Age: 50

    History:

    • Recieving his gift: When Bruno and his two sisters were five, they received magical gifts. His sister Julieta was given the power to heal, his sister Pepa was given the power to control the weather, and Bruno? He was given the power to see the future. This would be seen as a good thing when he was still young, as his visions were more visions of good things than bad, but the older he became and the more pressure there was to have only those good visions, the more his gift would sour. This would become the cause of the valley's community as well as his family distancing themselves from him.

    • Mirabel's future: The catalyst of Bruno's eventual "disappearance" would be his niece Mirabel not being given a gift on her own fifth birthday. When her birthday passed without being given anything, his mother came to him and asked him to look into the future and find out what this might mean. He did so and discovered that the fate of their home, the Miracle, the valley, everything, would depend on Mirabel. Since the vision implied something terrible, he pulled a vanishing act and went into hiding to protect her rather than reveal what he had seen.

    • The death of the Miracle: Ten years pass before the future that Bruno foresaw began to manifest. The Miracle that protected the valley and granted the Madrigals their gifts began to falter. This would be when his niece, Mirabel, would begin to look for answers. It ultimately led her to discover the vision and find Bruno, who had been living secretly in Casita's walls all this time. He tells her the vision had two outcomes and does what he can to pinpoint the way to the good one. On the surface, this appears to fail, as a confrontation between Abuela (Bruno's mom, Mirabel's grandmother) and Mirabel sets off the death of the Miracle and the destruction of Casita.
Powers: Bruno can see the future. To help focus and cope with the taxing nature of his power, Bruno performs a ritual that requires a large, open space to properly see his visions, and initiates it by drawing a circle in sand and burning leaves. Bruno does not have full control of his ability and some visions can come involuntarily.

    CHARACTER SURVEY
    MANDATORY QUESTIONS
    - Of all the things you own or have owned, what is the most important to you?

Uh, my ruana, I guess? That's, er, this thing. The cape... thingy, if you don't know what a... yeah. It was a gift and, honestly? I kinda stopped getting those after a while, so this one means a lot to me. Plus it's warm and comfortable! And check out the neat hood! Huh? See?

    - Where is it you feel most at peace, or most whole?

I don't think that I... have a place like that? I mean, I want to say when I'm with my family but, y'know, I kinda don't. Spend time with them anymore, so. I-it's just a whole thing.

    - Describe what gives you the most strength.

Mi familia. My family. I know I ran off and they think I'm gone and... all that. Stuff. But. It wasn't an easy decision. What I knew would have torn the family apart and all I wanted to do was protect them. They weren't ready to handle that future yet. Maybe they still aren't.

    OPTIONAL QUESTIONS
    - What is more important to you: embracing your individuality, or preserving the status quo?

I mean, if I could be part of the status quo, maybe my life would be easier, but I also see people struggling to fit in with that... all the time... every day... It's stressful and I'm really, super, definitely not normal enough for that, s-so. Hard to be anything but an individual when it comes to me.

    - Ultimate power comes at the cost of community. Being a part of a community comes at the cost of great power. Which would you choose?

Y'know, you ask that, but my family, um, sees it as great power coming with, like, this call to serve the community instead? And I don't. I don't disagree with that, j-just... they kinda go a little too hard on it, so it feels like you're apart from the community rather than part of it and, well, I could go on. I guess that means I choose to be part of a community instead of having power? 'cause that would be nicer, I think. Just being some guy, not important at all.

    - Do you consider the rules and laws to be an important part of society? How so?

Yyyyes? Our valley doesn't have a lot of crime or anything, but we still teach kids not to do stuff like steal or hurt people.

    - Do you forgive easily, or do you hold grudges?

Sheesh, could you imagine me holding grudges? I'd have one against everyone back home by now! I don't have it in me to do that. That's... it's just a lot. A lot of effort to do that, like, emotionally.

    - Have you ever made a promise you can't keep?

Nnnnnnno...? But, as a rule, I try not to make promises to begin with? The stuff I see, it isn't always set in stone, so I'd prefer offering a disclaimer over a promise. I mean, I couldn't even promise to answer mom's question about the whole Miracle thing. I ran away instead!

    - What are you most proud of?

Haha, uh, bet you thought I was gonna say something depressing like "nothing", huh? Well, nope! I've been working on this entire thing. It's like a play, but it's super dramatic. See, they're called telenovelas. It's totally a future thing but I'm writing my own! I made little sets for the rats and— [ This will go on for the next hour about making tiny sets and costumes for rats, yes, rats, please move on to the next question. ]

    - What would you describe as your weakness?

Mmm, everything? Everything. Honestly, I... I don't even know what my strengths are. Even the whole visions thing, not great, like ninety-five percent awful, five percent... uncertain? Yeah. That.

    - What is your one wish or greatest desire?

Going home... Um, like, not just from here, but back there, too. I know it's not as if I actually went far away but you would be surprised how, y'know, isolating it is. To just be one wall away from... from everything. Everyone. No taking part in anything, not meals, not celebrations, or even the sadder times. It. It feels like you're a ghost after a while.

    - What is your favorite color? Why?

What? You can't tell? Green? It's green. I dunno, do I need a reason? My eyes are green, my ruana is green, my visions, all green. Huh, you'd think that part would make me hate green, but nah, it's. I mean, you can't blame a color for stuff, it's a color!

    - What arcana best represents you? Why?

Arcana, arcana, arcana, uh, what, those cards? Wow, really? You're asking a real oracle about those? Let me... think. I guess. When I was little, I would have said the Wheel of Fortune, but. But not anymore. That's, that's old news. I feel like I'm the Tower these days. E-everything I see, it's bad. Everything I did before disappearing, people saw it as bad or shifty or like. Like I was having all these bad visions on purpose or... y'know... I think people just think I'm a bad guy... so, yeah, I'm the Tower. Definitely the Tower.

    - Cats or dogs?

Rats. [ Pause, loooong pause. ] W-what? Is... is that not an option? Fff, fine. Uh, dogs, since cats eat rats and all my friends are rats? And I don't want my friends to get eaten?

    CHARACTER
    Name: Yamato Nikaido
    Canon: IDOLiSH7
Canon point: Third Beat Episode 3
    Age: 22

    History:
    • Yamato "lost" his father, Chiba Shizuo when he was young. He didn't lose him in the literal sense, but his father, his hero, the guy he looked up to, ended up being caught in a lie when Yamato discovered him on tv with his real wife. His father used the house of Yamato's actual mother -- Chiba's mistress -- to host what was known as the "Chiba Salon". This was a group of actors and performers who protected each other's worst secrets. All of this lead to Yamato hating the entertainment industry and he became an idol for "revenge" against the Salon.
    • Yamato eventually got scouted by Otoharu Takanashi while working at a karaoke bar. He joined Takanashi Productions and was placed in the group that is now called IDOLiSH7. Yamato becomes the leader of the group, the person who supports them and holds them up when they fall. IDOLiSH7 does that several times in the first two seasons, and Yamato is the one who tries to keep the group together. That is…until his canon point.
    • Yukito Orikasa, someone Yamato knew prior to the series starting, came into the picture as his senior idol, and caused Yamato to become increasingly on edge. He became cagier and cagier about his life, history, and motivations, which caused some of his group members to grow increasingly more frustrated with him. Eventually, Mitsuki Izumi -- one of his closest friends -- decided he had enough, socked Yamato in the face, and the two of them got into a huge argument which resulted in them both leaving the IDOLiSH7 dorms. That's where Yamato's being taken from! Fun.

Powers: He's just a guy, man. For a human, though, Yamato's notable qualities are:
    1) Being an extraordinary actor,
    2) an excellent performer, and--
    3) a wonderful leader who protects and supports IDOLiSH7.

    CHARACTER SURVEY
    MANDATORY QUESTIONS
    - Of all the things you own or have owned, what is the most important to you?
My glasses, probably. I’ve been told that I have sharp eyes. I think they add to that effect.

[ They are part of his idol image, but also, he can’t see without them… That’s pretty important… ]

    - Where is it you feel most at peace, or most whole?
My room, away from everyone else.

    - Describe what gives you the most strength.
Heh… To be honest, I don’t know anymore. I don’t know where my strength went. All I can do is run away, even from the people who tried to give it to me…

    OPTIONAL QUESTIONS
    - What is more important to you: embracing your individuality, or preserving the status quo?
I would rather not stand out more than I need to and go with the flow. Funny I’d say that since I’m an idol, but if I were to do anything to tarnish IDOLiSH7’s image, I think I wouldn’t be able to forgive myself. Besides, status quo is a lot more comfortable.

    - Ultimate power comes at the cost of community. Being a part of a community comes at the cost of great power. Which would you choose?
… Neither. Neither of these sound like things that would fit me — not anymore. However, if I had to choose…I would rather belong.

    - Do you forgive easily, or do you hold grudges?
I forgive those who deserve it.

    - Have you ever made a promise you can't keep?
[ He refuses to answer this, which is an answer in itself. (The answer is yes.) ]

    - What are you most proud of?
    My arms.

    - What would you describe as your weakness?
Honest people who try to pry into other people’s business. It’s annoying. People aren’t obligated to knowing everything.

    - What is your one wish or greatest desire?
    …To go back, one day…to IDOLiSH7. Even if I don’t think that’ll ever happen.

[ He says it very quietly, like he’s ashamed of something. He’s clearly uncomfortable admitting it, too. ]

    - What is your favorite color? Why?
Green. It’s my image color in IDOLiSH7, and it’s just a color I’ve always liked, even since I was a child.

    CHARACTER
    Name: Leo Tsukinaga
    Canon: Ensemble Stars!!
    Canon point: Post SS arc!
Age: 19 (though his birthday is in May!)

    History:
    1. Pre-war era of Ensemble Stars! Leo defended a cat that hung around the archery club, Little John, from a bunch of delinquent students who had been hanging around the area at the time. Up until that point he'd been trying to keep the peace with them being around and while he was trying to defend the cat they injured him - admittedly semi-accidentally? - and broke his arm. While he lay there with a broken arm Leo began to compose a song in his own blood, insisting he was happy and this was a good thing because he'd never felt pain like this before and it was inspirational.

    2. In the war-era of Ensemble Stars! Leo's original unit, Chess, splintered into multiple smaller groups due to circumstances. He went around and asked each and every member of the scattered Chess to choose between two things: keeping him as a friend but never using any of his music ever again or losing him as a friend and using all of his music freely from that point on. Each and every one of the people he posed this question to chose his music instead of Leo himself. He realized in that moment that while he truly loved every one of them as dear friends those feelings were in not returned. This was part of what broke him utterly pre-Ensemble Stars!.

    3. During Requiem Leo went "villain mode" (what I call it when he decides to play the evil King/Knight to try to take on the weight of pain from other people which he does MULTIPLE TIMES, despite being far and away one of the kindest characters in Ensemble Stars) and said he'd quit and set up a special Judgement duel between the Knights in order to pass off his crown and have his Knights "kill him". Of course they refused to kill him and the crown was safely passed to Tsukasa and Leo was asked to remain with them as an idol. Something that brought him to tears with a smile...this habit of being unable to speak directly about how he feels but instead acting a villain and trying to make everyone else happy even if it means removing himself is one of his greatest flaws.
Powers: Leo's a world-famous composer and excels at, obviously, composing as well as arranging music! He can also play multiple instruments, apparently able to pick up whatever and make it work (though his first love was the piano). He's also good at improvised dance, archery (to the point he can just Show Up to a competition and win it), chess...several of the Knights dance choreographies involve swords as well so he's comfortable handling those. He can also drive a car. "That isn't extraordinary" his castmates were very impressed and startled about it so it counts!!

    CHARACTER SURVEY
    MANDATORY QUESTIONS
    - Of all the things you own or have owned, what is the most important to you?
"Ummmm~ hm~? I feel like calling Knights a "thing" is a bit weird, but as the former King didn't I own them at one point? So, I'll say them! But if it has to be an item...ugh, I dunno! I can't choose between all my masterpieces! Maybe my markers?"

    - Where is it you feel most at peace, or most whole?
"Sena house! The Knights studio~ well, I guess I haven't been there in a while though now that I'm fully graduated. And NewDi is a fun place to be, but I'm not sure that'd be the "most"...? Honestly, I'm pretty happy as long as there's music. So, anywhere there's a good song playing! It's nice if the others are there, or Ruka-tan, but it's fine if they aren't!"

    - Describe what gives you the most strength.
"Music! Even if I'm not composing it, I love it! I wanna hear it! If you're listening to silence, isn't that the worst?? Well, there's pretty much always a tune playin' in my head...though the times I've heard nothing even there have been the lowest times. Not a fan, wahahaha!"

    OPTIONAL QUESTIONS
    - What is more important to you: embracing your individuality, or preserving the status quo?
"Uh, the first? I don't really care whatever most other people are doing! That's boring to keep track of. Sena and Suou will complain if I get too out of line so I guess I have to keep to it somewhat, but part of being an artist means doing your own thing! ♪"

    - Ultimate power comes at the cost of community. Being a part of a community comes at the cost of great power. Which would you choose?
"I just gave away the crown last year, I don't want it back! Keep that great power and let me sing on stage with everyone, 'kay? I'm sure there's some other guy who wants the ultimate power or whatever! Although...you know, that kind of gives me an idea for a song...don't you kinda wanna cheer for the guys in stories who go all out for an ultimate power? It's that shounen jump kinda feeling!"

    - Do you consider the rules and laws to be an important part of society? How so?
"Mmm...I've never thought about it that much! There's rules you have to follow, I guess, but most of the time I just do whatever I want. Wahahaha, I haven't broken the law as much as Sena and Suou, though! ♪ Naru and I are the good children, you know."

    - Do you forgive easily, or do you hold grudges?
"I've been scolded for it before, forgiving people...but holding on to something that heavy just doesn't work for me. I can't help loving the people who hurt me and abandoned me, you know? After all, I'm pretty sure I did awful things to them as well...I crushed a lot of people back then. I was in pain, so I made other people hurt. I regret those times a lot, and I don't wanna hold on to anything that makes it happen all over again."

    - Have you ever made a promise you can't keep?
"Sure. Or - well...I don't know? I promised I'd crush everyone for Sena and take him to the top...and I broke. But these days Knights is still aiming for the top, and I want to support them as they fly up there! Ahhh...and sometimes when I take Ruka-tan to her practices we end up being late. - What are you most proud of?
"Ruka-tan is really cute! She's my little sister, wanna see a photo? But other than that~ definitely my talent as a composer! I'm a genius blessed by god when it comes to my music. I'm not gonna play fake humble 'bout it!"

    - What would you describe as your weakness?
"Whoa. But I guess that's not...how to word it...? Sometimes - sometimes I can't even do my one job, y'know? All I wanna do is write songs for all of them. It's what I'm good for. So the times I can't do that - then everything about me is a weakness. After all, music is my only strength."

    - Name one thing you refuse to compromise on, and why.

If you don't feel like doing it, you don't wanna do it! But even at those times I can get dragged into it, so like, is that a real answer? Argh...oh, wait! I won't use markers that don't work properly! Because if they get all dry really fast, isn't that super annoying? I don't want to constantly be replacing them, so I try to keep really good ones on hand that can write on whatever. If I run out of paper I still want them to work! That's a great answer, right? Praise me a little bit!"

    - What is your one wish or greatest desire?
"Hm, I'd just like to keep singing with everyone. Oh! Or to go to space and meet an alien, that'd be pretty cool!"

    - What piece of classical literature best represents you, and why?
"Whoa, boring! Definitely nothing by Mozart! But if I had to pick something...can it be a piece by Chopin? Oh? Not a musical piece? Even more boring! Mmm, I guess it's not classical, but that story about a canary that stops singing is pretty fitting. Though it learns to sing again in the end, you know? As to why...well, I guess it feels like it's about me and what happened in my second year. A bird who lost his voice sentenced to die, right? Maybe that's self-centered, though!"

    - What animal would you want to be?
"That one time Nacchan did hypnotization I ended up a cat! And you know, I think I'd pick that. Little John could play with me!"

    - What is your favorite color? Why?

    - What is your favorite flower? Why?
"I'm not picky. I guess I do like sakura-flavored candies, so sakura blossoms are fine!"

    - What arcana best represents you? Why?
"Is this a question about tarot? Sorry, I don't know a lot about that! My roommate does it and all but I totally forget everything he's ever said on the matter. The only thing that stuck is that Death isn't a bad card like movies make it out to be...I think? Um...? Yeah, you should ask someone else, I've got nothing!"

    CHARACTER
Name: Ithaqua, aka Night Watch. Real name unknown.
    Canon: Identity V
    Canon point: After becoming "Ithaqua"
Age: Young adult, so somewhere between 18-25

    History:
    • Birth, death, revival & adoption: Roll these into one since they happened on the same day (night?). His body was abandoned in the wilderness because he was stillborn, and subsequently found and revived by a suspected witch on the run from authorities. Then the maybe-witch raised him deep in the forest, teaching him how to read, write, and survive in the wilderness, and they were quite happy as mother and son, which made the next events difficult to cope with.

    • His mother's arrest: He learned about the cruelty of humans on this day, when they put chains on her and dragged her away. For years, they both had lived quietly in the forest and done nothing to others, so when the people of the nearby town hunted her for being a witch, he couldn't understand why they considered someone religiously devout just like everyone else a witch, why witchcraft was a crime, and why they would be so violent to someone who wasn't resisting. This was also the moment that he discovered he had blood family, because the head of the mob was his identical twin brother, the son of the town magistrate.

    • The aftermath of the hunt: He killed his twin before breaking his mother out of prison, but his mother had been tortured and the mental damage was irreversible. Because she now associated his face with the man who tortured her, he wore a mask to hide it. To protect her, he began to hunt everyone who came into the forest, claiming to have shed his humanity and not bound to the conventions of civilized people. The locals called him "Ithaqua" and "the Abominable Snowman", believing him to be the monster in their local stories. He also began to change physically, starting with his eyes, but whether or not this is because he "shed his humanity" is unknown (or if he literally did stop being human, or if he was just being dramatic).

    Powers:
    • Wind powers: Ithaqua can control the air around himself to create different winds of varying strengths, depending on personal need and the current situation. He can choose to slow down his prey with wind pushing them in his direction for several seconds so he has time to catch up, or just outright close the gap between them with a strong wind sweeping them off their feet and pulling them towards his body. Imagine the former as a strong electric fan and the latter as the maximum setting of a vacuum, but completely exaggerated.

That's not all, as he can also use the wind on his own body depending on need-- he can lighten his body with the wind around it, either to move faster and even jump over obstacles for a short period of time, or allow him to propel himself several feet forward if his prey is too far to catch up with sprinting, though it doesn't make him immune to colliding with obstacles. With the latter, he can even change the direction of his dash during it... somehow... He can't do a 180 or even a 90, but he can curve just a bit.

    • Resistance to low temperatures: Ithaqua has little issue with living in a perpetually snowy forest that often has blizzards. He goes out in less layers than the people he hunts, and as his title implies, he always does so at night, and isn't hindered by the cold or the snow in any way (the stilts may have something to do with the latter though).

    • Other: He knows herbalism, as evidenced with how he dealt with his mother's physical injuries after bringing her home. However, it's impossible to know for now what else he learned, or if his mother taught him some witchcraft, because there's not a lot of lore of him after he became "Ithaqua".

    CHARACTER SURVEY
    MANDATORY QUESTIONS
    - Of all the things you own or have owned, what is the most important to you? My mask. It keeps certain people from being reminded of something abhorrent when they look at me.

    - Where is it you feel most at peace, or most whole? A forest clearing at night, with merely myself, the whistling of the wind, and the murmuring of animals. It often snows, but sometimes the skies are clear enough for me to see the moon and stars. The forest is at its best when there are no humans to sully it, and I can be assured that there's no one to disturb Mother.

    - Describe what gives you the most strength. The one I became a beast for. But, lately, I'm finding the fear of those I hunt enjoyable, even motivating at times.

    OPTIONAL QUESTIONS
    - What is more important to you: embracing your individuality, or preserving the status quo? What is the status quo to someone like me? I suppose it's the way I've been living. When put together with the person that I am, neither is more important than the other, because one is the reason for the other and vice versa.

    - Ultimate power comes at the cost of community. Being a part of a community comes at the cost of great power. Which would you choose? Just those two? Really? Very well. Community comes with more than just a lack of great power, it comes with many expectations that force you to conform or die. I have always rejected civilization because of this... If that means choosing power, so be it.

    - Do you consider the rules and laws to be an important part of society? How so? To ask that question from a barbarian like me, isn't that strange? The rules and laws of society are exactly why I embraced this way of life. Humans allow rules and laws to dictate their every move, so they are clearly important to them, and I acknowledge that... and have chosen not to participate.

    - Do you forgive easily, or do you hold grudges? Forgiveness given is almost always forgiveness wasted. It has its place, but isn't it better to stay alert in case you're bitten again? Better yet, make sure it never happens again.

    - Have you ever made a promise you can't keep? No. If I must say such things, I should be honourable enough to keep to them.

    - What are you most proud of? My strength, as very few can escape me when I start to hunt.

    - What would you describe as your weakness? None. The forest is my home, no one can outpace me in it, and if I was removed from it, I'm still faster than any human. If you were to threaten Mother, I'd merely kill you, and make it a painful death.

    - Name one thing you refuse to compromise on, and why. My way of life. To give it up does not only mean abandoning Mother, but forgiving those who harmed her, and those who share similar sentiments. Civilized people hate those who do not conform, and I will never count myself among them, even if I can mingle on occasion.

    - What is your one wish or greatest desire? Mother's recovery. Pains of the body are easily dealt with, but she has more than those plaguing her.

    - What piece of classical literature best represents you, and why? The literature of the townspeople is enough. They named me after the beasts in the stories, and I have embraced that identity.

    - What animal would you want to be? A bird. Perhaps an owl...?

    - What is your favorite color? Why? A pale yellow like the moon. In the dead of night, there is often not a lot of things to look at until a hunt comes by.

    - What is your favorite flower? Why? Any flower from a fruit tree-- they're not just for you to look at, but to look forward to enjoying once they have matured.

    - What arcana best represents you? Why? Those cards? I don't know enough about them to say anything, but at first glance, the Hermit seems appropriate, no? Hermits tend to live apart from others. ... No? That's not what the card means?

    - Cats or dogs? Why can it not be both? But if you insist on making me choose just one animal to favour, I choose birds.

    LUNAE CALAMITAS

    CHARACTER
    Name: Malice
    Canon: Original Character
Canon point: After breaking free of Lotisse's manor and meeting up with Marie and the human rebels.
Age: His exact age is unknown, but he's in his mid-twenties.

    History:
    1. Human Rebels
Malice has always been a loner, looking out for himself and never anyone else. Despite being a vampire, he was taken in by a group of human rebels and their leader, Cody, took a shine to him. They worked together to fight back against the controlling vampire lord in the area to try to free humans... but Malice eventually betrayed them despite really enjoying his time with them.

    2. Rosalie
The vampire lord, Rosalie, captured Malice and revealed that she was actually his mom and thought he'd died. She offered him a place at her side if he betrayed his friends, which he did so immediately. He lived with her for quite some time, but he really wasn't happy pretending to be vampire nobility.

    3. Lotisse
His only friend during his time at Rosalie's was Lotisse, a younger vampire nobleman who encouraged Malice to run away with him. So they fled to Lotisse's manor... where Lotisse revealed this was all a setup. He captured Malice and forced him through fights until his Domain (a unique power) manifested. Malice just recently managed to escape with the help of those same human rebels he had betrayed.

    Powers:
As a vampire, Malice has an innate set of strengths and weaknesses. He must consume blood every week or so or he'll risk going into bloodlust, a berserker state where he only cares about obtaining blood and will blindly attack anyone including other vampires. His world's vampires are not undead, and he's very capable of being killed just the same as anyone else, though he comes with enhanced regeneration, strength, and speed. His senses are also heightened. Vampires are naturally weak to sunlight and magic, as well as fire. They can withstand the cold much better than humans can. It's worth noting that Malice can go out in the sunlight, but it will severely weaken his reflexes/strength and generally make him easier to kill. He does not sparkle in the sun. :c

All vampires have a unique ability called a Domain. Malice's Domain is the ability to reflect damage back on anyone who inflicted it on him - though this only works as long as he's alive and his control isn't perfect yet. He can activate this on physical attacks (slashes, bruises) or on magical ones (though it has to physically hurt him and he needs to be fairly close to the caster). He can't reflect this damage if he actually dies to the attack, and he does have to be injured for it to actually work.

Not an actual power or ability, but Malice does have a mechanical right arm that runs on a soulstone - that grants it the ability to move and act as a regular arm would, including fine motor movement.

    CHARACTER SURVEY
    MANDATORY QUESTIONS
    - Of all the things you own or have owned, what is the most important to you?
Obvious answer? My arm. I wouldn't be totally defenseless without it, but it makes life a hell of a lot easier. But if we're talkin' sentimental items... There was this necklace I had, once. Belonged to the human woman who raised me. Made of these real pretty purple stones an' she always said they reminded her of me... But I had to sell it to make ends meet. So I haven't seen that damn thing in years.

[A brief pause, like he's considering leaving it there, but then...]

An' I guess there was Cody's bracelet. He made us - all the rebels - these little woven things. They were pretty shitty. But he said they were friendship bracelets or somethin', an' that havin' 'em would remind us of each other or whatever. I got one too, even though most of 'em didn't trust me. I kept that thing for longer than I should've, but I threw it out awhile back. Doesn't matter much anymore, since Cody's dead.

    - Where is it you feel most at peace, or most whole?
Back alleys in the dead of night. When it's quiet an' there's barely anyone around, but you know the place is still dangerous so you can't let down your guard. I've lived there for so much of my life that it really does feel like home, more than Rosalie's fancy-ass manor ever did, anyway.

    - Describe what gives you the most strength.
Survival. Fightin' in general, maybe. I do all I can to keep myself alive and sometimes it's tougher than others, but it's worked out well enough, hasn't it? I'm still here, an' that's what counts.

    OPTIONAL QUESTIONS
    - What is more important to you: embracing your individuality, or preserving the status quo?
Individuality, definitely. I've been fightin' to overthrow the status quo... or well, I was, once. I guess I was never really in it for the humans' goal, I was just there to fight an' kill vampires. All of 'em are crap, an' that bastard Lotisse certainly proved it.

...Guess I got a bit distracted. Point is, I like bein' me. I like bein' me a lot more than I like playin' by anyone else's rules. That good enough?

    - Ultimate power comes at the cost of community. Being a part of a community comes at the cost of great power. Which would you choose?
Power sounds like it'd be great, but... I dunno if I'd really go for it at the cost of community? I kinda like community. I mean, sure I act tough and like I don't need anyone but... bein' totally alone again? I don't want to go back to that. Hell, that's why I'm goin' with Marie despite the fact that she's still pissed at me 'bout what happened with Rosalie; I'd rather risk her wrath than be alone again.

    - Do you consider the rules and laws to be an important part of society? How so?
Nah. I'm sure plenty of people do, but I've never seen much of a point in 'em. People are gonna follow their own morals anyway, so what's the point in havin' all these uptight rules to follow? An' if people don't end up followin' any sort of moral code? Then we'll destroy ourselves, an' that's what we'd deserve.

    - Do you forgive easily, or do you hold grudges?
I definitely hold grudges. I probably should hold less grudges. But it's hard to do that! People who piss me off - like, actually piss me off - deserve it. It ain't hard to get on my good side to begin with, after all.

    - Have you ever made a promise you can't keep?
Sure, yeah. I promised a lot to Cody, an' look where that got him. I did tell 'em that they shouldn't trust vampires, an' that includes me. So. Serves him right.

[He sounds sort of conflicted about it, though.]

    - What are you most proud of?
Surviving. I've lived through some damn impossible situations and come out of it still kickin'. I'm pretty proud of my ability to survive as a whole as well, which I guess extends to my abilities. My Domain's kind of a new thing, so I wouldn't say I'm proud of that. Yet, I guess? Maybe in time I will be. Hard to say, since I got my shit kicked in until the damn thing actually decided to manifest.

...Point is, I've lived through some real shit an' yet I'm still here. I'm not goin' anywhere, if I have any say in it. I'm not dyin' anytime soon.

    - What would you describe as your weakness?
Honestly? I think my biggest weakness is feelin' like I need to be loved an' cared about. If I didn't have that, my life'd be a whole lot easier. I hate feelin' so... needy, I guess. Like I'm not worth much without someone to care about me for me, y'know? Couldn't help feelin' jealous of Rosalie's other kids 'cause they didn't do anythin' and she was still dotin' on 'em all the time. An' then there's Lotisse... I really thought he liked me an' look at what happened there. He locked me up! Took away the only thing I like more than bein' alive, my freedom! Ugh.

[Wanting to be loved isn't exactly a weakness, so it's really more Malice doing stupid things when things are going well. He betrayed the humans because he was worried about someone betraying him and losing his happiness. Whenever he starts feeling like things are going too well, he tends to throw a wrench into things so that no one else can ruin it for him. Malice is a mess and a half and doesn't handle losing people well.]

    - Name one thing you refuse to compromise on, and why.
My freedom. I've finally learned just how much that means to me, an' I'm not willin' to lose it again. I went from a gilded cage in Rosalie's to a jail cell in Lotisse's manor, so I'm not doin' that again. I ain't servin' anyone again - I'll work with people, but I'm not goin' to give up any of my freedom for any reason.

    - What is your one wish or greatest desire?
Survival, I guess? But that doesn't really count, does it...? Freedom? Yeah, but I already have that. I guess I just want to be me. An' I want people to like me for who I am, that too. I don't wanna be betrayed or left alone again. I don't need to be surrounded by people worshipin' the ground I walk on or anythin' like that, I just want to be... happy. Yeah, I think that's it. I wanna live, not just survive.

    LUNAE CALAMITAS
    Inventory:
    1. Replacement right arm, complete with claws. A metal and magitek device powered by a soulstone that attaches to a port on Malice's elbow. This one is used to fight and cannot really serve as a proper hand.
    2. Replacement right arm, with a hand. This is the one for everyday tasks. Like the other one, it's powered by a soulstone and is capable of detailed work.
    3. Soulstone. A magical little rock that slots into his magitek arms and enables their usage.
    4. Dagger. A standard dagger, stolen from Lotisse's manor to use in defense.
    5. Ring. A fancy ring with the emblem of Annihilation Eclipse on it.

I am perfectly fine with Malice regaining only one version of the arm (probably the one without the claws lmao) and/or the soulstone being nerfed so he needs to rely on magic to power the arm. Alternatively, he could come in without either arm entirely and need to figure out a way to get a new one/use magic to assist him; I am totally fine with this as well! Since he is used to relying on his arm (the one with the claws) to attack, getting rid of it would make him rely on magic far more heavily, after all.

Sage Crest: At the base of his neck, on his back.

    Questions?:
Since Malice is a vampire, he needs to drink blood to survive. He can consume animal or non-human blood and generally be fine! He can go for about two weeks without blood, but after that starts getting dicey. I am totally fine with this being removed entirely (Malice can now eat food for whatever reason), being handwaved (he's just not hungry and doesn't need to feed), or handled by magic, assuming he learns it quickly enough! Or anything else you guys would prefer, I'm not picky! Also as mentioned in the inventory section, I'm totally fine removing items/nerfing them!

PAIR CLAUSE: Bring it on, I'm definitely looking forward to challenging Malice's worldview and beliefs in this game, so I'm down for whatever you guys throw at me!

    CHARACTER
    Name: Comet
    Canon: Original
Canon point: 3 months on earth, Two months into the school year, Comet's stepmom finds out about her son's dangerous side job.
    Age: 17

    History:
Comet is from the moon and from a generation of priests and priestesses. The people of the moon are a superstitious sort, being descended from the humans chosen by the God of the moon as his servants in ancient times and given long lives. They're also really bureaucratic about supernatural business and distant from earthly and human matters in every sense of the word. Their mother was one such moon priestess, but she was far more interested in the earth from a more mundane point of view and wanted to experience those things for herself. She fathered a hybrid child with a human man when she visited earth, and that's Comet. Their mother was punished and banned from visiting the earth, and in fact is still imprisoned (house arrest) at her family's shrine. She also had to take Comet back with her and raise them on her own.

Comet had a pretty quiet childhood on the moon, and enjoyed hearing the stories of nature on earth from his Mother with her collection of artwork and books. Due to having a much shorter lifespan than a normal Moon Person, the citizens often treat Comet with a distant politeness at best, and like a familiar/servant of their family at worst. They didn't mind at first, as they found those people pretty stiff. To their annoyance though, any attempts to be cheeky or cause mischief are seen as insignificant, perhaps because of their status, or because the mother's prevailing sin outweighs whatever Comet could do. As a young adult with their mother's blessing, they ran away to Earth.

Thankfully, they're able to reunite with their father in a coastal town that's been mostly spared by the calamities that ruined the rest of the country. Unfortunately, he has already remarried and is currently very ill, which complicates Comet's wish to bring their family back together. The mother and son from a prior marriage are happy to take Comet in however, being gentle souls who notice that their ailing second husband/stepfather appreciates this new "friend" keeping him company. They sign them up for their high school under a fake name and pretend Comet is a visiting relative. Jokingly as repayment, Comet works for the family's shop part time and helps their step-brother with his other job, which involves exploring the ruined world outside of town. They think it's a fun activity that is totally not suspicious, and they get to live a mostly normal life for now. Win-win.

    Powers:
Humans in Comet's world are born with affinities for certain kinds of magic and with varying levels of aptitude. However, it has to be amplified with artifacts or making deals with the supernatural in order to be used as spells and abilities. Comet is technically under the latter category, and they say how they can use this magic is a secret.

Gravity Magic: Comet's natural affinity because half Moon Person. It's basically support stuff, like slowing down enemies or boosting their allies' agility. It can be used offensively to break things, but Comet can only use that on objects, not people. Also physically/spiritually stronger objects are harder to break and Comet will get exhausted. The motions to cast it are done with their hands.

Purification: They learned this from their mother as a part of usual shrine practices. It's basically a debuff or status ailment cleanse (maybe buff removal if they want to be mean. They can use it on not only people, but objects and small areas. A quiet, focused prayer would be used for smaller things, and something like a practiced traditional dance would be for larger objects or areas.

    Fishing:
I just put this here to be funny. They've gotten quite good at it!

I think I have to say individuality, because I've seen a lot of the status quo upheld where I'm from. It's terrible…

    - Ultimate power comes at the cost of community. Being a part of a community comes at the cost of great power. Which would you choose?
I don't want ultimate power, or for someone else to have it at the cost of a community. That's how the Earth ended up the way it did.

    - Do you consider the rules and laws to be an important part of society? How so?
Yes, but only as some sort of direction, not as a restriction. Too many and then I think they should be changed or broken.

    - Do you forgive easily, or do you hold grudges?
Give me a bit of time, and maybe I'll forgive if it's outweighed by more important things. But I won't if it's something painful.

    - Have you ever made a promise you can't keep?
No, and I'd like to keep it that way. The guilt would be unmeasurable, just ask my mom.

    - What are you most proud of?
I caught a really big fish at the beach! It was delicious when cooked.

    - What would you describe as your weakness?
I really wish I could do more for the people important to me. They support me, but I want to give back and don't know how.

    - Name one thing you refuse to compromise on, and why.
I think all beings are created equal and deserve to find their own place in the world. That's all.

    - What is your one wish or greatest desire?
I wish for my family to be together, even if only for a short time.

    - What piece of classical literature best represents you, and why?
Oh, I've read some… I think the Tale of the Bamboo Cutter, even if it's kinda obvious because Kaguya is from the moon. I also want to see if those weird treasures exist.

    - What animal would you want to be?
A manta ray, because they are large and unbothered. They have them at the big aquarium, they're so graceful…

    - What is your favorite color? Why?
I guess it's midnight blue, because it's the color of the sea and the color of the night sky.

    - What is your favorite flower? Why?
Night-blooming jasmine. It smells nice and I like how the flowers look like little stars. My step-mom grows them.

    - What arcana best represents you? Why?
[ Assuming they were given a copy of Tarot for Dummies for a brief idea on this: ]

Wheel of Fortune… Or is it just the Fortune arcana? Life has ups and downs, while things repeat and make cycles. I also know about things that are believed to affect fortune, living in a shrine and all.

    - Cats or dogs?
Both are great though… Okay, cats because we both like seafood.

    CHARACTER
    Name: Kurapika
    Canon: Hunter x Hunter
    Canon point: Chapter 400
    Age: 19

    History:
Massacre of the Kurta Clan(eye horror cw): While Kurapika was away searching for a doctor for his friend so he could get well and they could explore the world together, the Phantom Troupe attacked the Kurta Clan and massacred them. Their eyes were taken from their bodies and then sold on the black market (known as Scarlet Eyes), leaving Kurapika the sole survivor. As a result, Kurapika vowed revenge against the Phantom Troupe and began a mission to recover all of the Scarlet Eyes sold on the black market.

Killing Uvogin: Uvogin is the first Phantom Troupe member Kurapika kills, challenging him in a one-on-one fight as a means to test the abilities he's developed and how they'd fare against a member of the Troupe. It's a fight that makes him emotional as he tries to question Uvogin about the whereabouts of the others and fails to get any real information. He hits Uvogin over and over in an attempt to beat something out of him, but is unsuccessful, and the act of beating him upsets him enough that Kurapika eventually asks Uvogin: "How can you do these things, yet feel and think nothing at all?". Once he kills Uvogin, he uses a shovel he brought to the fight to bury him as a show of respect after his death. This is also the first time Kurapika has ever killed someone, and he has only killed one other Phantom Troupe member since.

York New City kidnapping with his friends: When Kurapika finally meets up with his friends Leorio, Gon, and Killua, he divulges the secrets of his powers. It puts him at risk, but he values his friends enough to let them know. Kurapika also decides to go after the rest of the Phantom Troupe, and they insist on helping him. Reluctantly, he allows them to. The four work together to capture the leader of the Phantom Troupe, but Gon and Killua end up getting captured by the other Phantom Troupe members as well, creating a hostage situation. They work to exchange their hostages, ultimately leaving Kurapika back at square one. This doesn't bother him, as keeping his friends alive is more important to him.

    Powers:

Nen: The ability to use your own aura (life energy). There are six different types of Nen, with each individual born with a certain type that they will then use as a basis for developing an ability unique to them. Kurapika is a Conjurer and uses his Nen to create chains, though with the use of his Scarlet Eyes, he becomes a Specialist, which is essentially an ability that cannot be categorized. The following are Kurapika's specific abilities, each belonging to one of his fingers:
-Holy Chain (thumb): A cross attached to his chains that cures wounds, even healing serious injuries while Kurapika is using Emperor Time.
-Steal Chain (index finger): Shaped like a syringe. It drains his victim's aura and steals their ability, and they are unable to use their ability until it is returned.
-Chain Jail (middle finger): Binds the recipient in chains that are unbreakable while also negating their powers. It is only to be used on the Phantom Troupe, and only so powerful due to the limitation Kurapika has placed on it—if he uses it on anyone outside of the Phantom Troupe, he will die.
-Dowsing Chain (ring finger): A ball and chain that Kurapika uses as a dowsing instrument for finding missing people or determining whether or not someone is lying. With Emperor Time active, he can use this ability through video recordings.
-Judgment Chain (little finger): A blade on the end of Kurapika's chain that wraps around his victim's heart. Kurapika gives them an order that, if violated, will cause the blade to pierce their heart and kill them. This ability can only be used while Emperor Time is active, and is also how Kurapika has placed the limitation on himself for Chain Jail.
-Stealth Dolphin: Can only be used in conjunction with Steal Chain. A beast made of Nen that can analyze an ability Kurapika has stolen and divulge its properties to him. The dolphin can also gain the ability and transfer it to Kurapika or someone else, as well as assist the person given the ability with using it. Stealth Dolphin remains active until the ability is used, and until it has been used, Kurapika must continue to use Emperor Time. The dolphin periodically reminds Kurapika how long he has had Emperor Time active.

Scarlet Eyes: When experiencing intense emotions, as a member of the Kurta Clan, Kurapika's eyes turn a bright red. When this happens, Kurapika gains increased strength and is nearly unable to control himself; however, Kurapika can mostly control his emotions now, and is able to turn his eyes red at will. Being in this state also causes him exhaustion, causing Kurapika to become feverish with extensive use. After a few hours in this state, he'll pass out.
-Emperor Time: When Kurapika's eyes turn scarlet, he becomes a Specialist, allowing him to command all types of Nen. This allows him to have abilities in types outside of Conjurer, as well as abilities that combine types. With such a powerful ability, there's a great drawback—for each second that Emperor Time is active, Kurapika loses an hour off of his total lifespan.

    CHARACTER SURVEY
    MANDATORY QUESTIONS
    - Of all the things you own or have owned, what is the most important to you?
The Scarlet Eyes. They're all that remains of the Kurta Clan, and are made up of friends and family and people that I knew. Having them back means that they are no longer serving as someone's possession or toy—their bodies are at last being respected in death.
    - Where is it you feel most at peace, or most whole?
With my friends Leorio, Gon, and Killua. They never failed to bring a smile to my face, or to make me feel at ease, even if we argued. Above everything, they're good friends and I'm lucky to have them. I don't know that I'll be able to ever be with them again and feel at ease, however. It's too late for that.
    - Describe what gives you the most strength.
My resolve and my anger, both of which keep me focused on my goals. As long as this anger inside of me continues to simmer, my resolve will remain strong, and it's that resolve that allows me to make the necessary sacrifices for my power. It's the source of my strength.

    OPTIONAL QUESTIONS
    - What is more important to you: embracing your individuality, or preserving the status quo?
That depends. Sometimes, individuality can cost you your life. What's better in that case? Maintaining the status quo, or losing your life? Some might want to embrace themselves, but I would rather live.
    - Ultimate power comes at the cost of community. Being a part of a community comes at the cost of great power. Which would you choose?
Community. If I could give up the power that I have now for the safety of the Kurta Clan, I'd do it without any extra thought.
    - Do you consider the rules and laws to be an important part of society? How so?
Yes. Rules and laws govern everything, and I'd like to think that they protect people more often than not. What happens when you succumb to lawlessness is pain—body parts sold on the black market, people killing one another, entire cities crumbling. You really don't have to look far to find examples of the consequences of a lack of rules.
    - Do you forgive easily, or do you hold grudges?
What do you think? [ A pause. ] I never want my anger to fade. I want to hold onto it, to let it drive me in seeing my goals through. Death means nothing in the face of my rage.
    - Have you ever made a promise you can't keep?
Yes. I promised to find a doctor for my friend to help with his condition, but I was never able to fulfill that promise.
    - What are you most proud of?
Truthfully, I don't know that I'm proud of anything. I'm proud of my friends, but I don't know if that would count.
    - What would you describe as your weakness?
That I refuse to let anyone help me with my goals. I don't know what I would do if a friend died on the battlefield because of me, so I have to work alone. It's only a weakness because I'm well aware that not having allies with me will set me back.
    - Name one thing you refuse to compromise on, and why.
My goals. I will recover the last of the Scarlet Eyes even if it turns me into someone I no longer recognize, and I'll tear off each and every leg of the Spider until there's nothing left. Nothing—and no one—can keep me from attaining these goals.
    - What is your one wish or greatest desire?
To accomplish my goals. Although... I think, more than that, it's to have something to return to once I do. [A pause. ] That would be nice.
    - What arcana best represents you? Why?
Justice. After all, I'm working towards making sure the Kurta Clan receives justice. It's only fair. [ But... he pauses. That doesn't quite fit him, does it? Kurapika's well aware of it too, a frown on his lips as he thinks it over. ] I think the real answer is The World, reversed. I'm almost done with collecting the Scarlet Eyes, but I've lost so much of myself in the process. Who do I have to return to, once it's all over?
    - Cats or dogs?
I like both, even if I could never have a pet.

Questions?: Kurapika has something known as Scarlet Eyes, which was a trait belonging to the Kurta Clan wherein their eyes would turn red while experiencing intense emotions. It's connected to his powers in some way, though it's not really clear in canon what that connection is. However, his eyes turned red before he developed his powers (though it gave him increased strength). This is something Kurapika can largely do at will by now, but that doesn't mean he can't lose control of his emotions either.

Therefore, without powers, would his eyes turn red when he feels something intensely in game? It would be largely cosmetic rather than impacting him in any other way, but I'd thought I'd ask if this is something I could do!

    CHARACTER
    Name: Mikaela Hyakuya
    Canon: Owari no Seraph
Canon point: Post Chapter 101 (following the dream sequence)
    Age: 16

    History:

    • Mika and his orphanage were kept as livestock by vampires for years, living in poor condition. Mika, age 12, leveraged the favor of one particular vampire, Ferid, who enjoyed the company of children in exchange for favors, such as food. Determined to save his orphan family, Mika stole a gun and a map to the exit from Ferid and hastily hurried the other children to escape with him. This was, of course, a trap. Ferid had been toying with him. His family was slaughtered before him, save one Mika pushed to escape alone, and Mika felt personally responsible for their deaths, the guilt overpowering. A vampire offered to save Mika by turning him into a vampire and Mika, bleeding out, attempted suicide— he was not allowed this choice, and was forcibly killed and turned into an incomplete vampire.

    • Four years later, under Ferid's care, Mika found the one surviving orphan, Yuu, again. He begged Yuu to run away with him and live somewhere isolated, away from both factions. Yuu rejected him. When a manhunt for Yuu began, Mika kidnapped Yuu, hoping to save him, but collapsed due to thirst. Mika had starved himself of human blood for fear Yuu would reject him as inhumane, especially since drinking human blood would complete his transformation into a vampire. Yuu, worried for him, forced Mika to drink his. Mika, in his own words, "became a monster" for Yuu. He felt a deep self-hatred toward himself as a vampire, but also hated humans for their monstrous acts. He felt isolated and that Yuu was the only one he could depend on. As a vampire, his emotions and feelings began to decay; Yuu was the only fragment of his humanity that remained.

    • Yuu was simplistic and reckless; he wanted to trust his mentor, Guren, who was hunting him down for human experimentation, and would not run when Mika insisted. In a sequence of events that left Mika increasingly stressed and anxious, Mika had to deceive Yuu to get him to run, protect him bodily, causing him to lose a great deal of blood. Yuu went out of commission, leaving Mika to defend the two of them against Guren alone. Realizing he couldn't defend Yuu and survive, Mika chose to defend Yuu at the cost of his life: Mika let Guren slice him into two halves while he put all his energy into one final attack, hoping to take Guren with him. As he died, Mika told Yuu he loves him, and told himself Yuu will be safe in the hands of his new family— without Mika.

    Powers:

    • Vampires are undead corpses; they cannot die a second time. They can be injured, and they can lose their physical bodies if they lose too much blood (at which point they go amnesiac, become malevolent spirits, and become desire parasites, basically), but the function of a vampire is to suffer for all eternity. Vampires must feed nightly, and often more than once (they can go three days without feeding before they lose control and jump someone). Vampires will also catch fire in the sun (which, again, won't kill them, so they just suffer endlessly).

    • Vampires can regenerate endlessly. Injuries heal near-instantaneously, and, if you cut off a limb (whether it be his head or lower body or whatever else), it can be reattached if held against where it was cut off. Lost appendages regenerate just as quick. Injury and regeneration consumes blood, which can leave a vampire hungry, depending on the intensity of the injury and regeneration.

    • Vampires don't need sleep (they can stay awake 24/7 without issue), but they get sleepy and doze during the day; they're barely functional.
◌ Mika has a special item he wears that allows him to navigate daytime normally (it prevents him from catching fire in the sun and allows him to remain awake during the day). Since this is a physical item, it can be removed. While the localization calls it a "UV-blocking ring," it looks like the Japanese is literally just "UV-blocking device" (紫外線除去装置), which is wildly vague. I'll say that, when he enters the elevator, it takes the form of an earring. Mods are free to have this knocked off at any point during the game, as desired.

    • Vampires have acute senses and enhanced speed and strength. Mika is exceptionally strong and fast, even for a common-rank vampire (because he was sired by a high-ranking vampire). He can hold his own against some tougher opponents, and he far outclasses even skilled humans; he can take on multiple human enemies with ease.

    • Mika has a sword that manifests thorns. Upon verbal activation, these thorns drain his blood to power up the oomph of his weapon's blows as well as temporarily buff his own physical abilities. (This weapon mechanic isn't explained very well at all for any character, unfortunately.)

    • If guilt and self-loathing were a competitive sport, Mika would be an Olympic medalist.

    CHARACTER SURVEY
    MANDATORY QUESTIONS
    - Of all the things you own or have owned, what is the most important to you?
... A necklace Yuu-chan gave me, from when we were in the orphanage. It's old and cheap and the "gem" it has is probably just colored glass, but it means the world to me.

    - Where is it you feel most at peace, or most whole?
By Yuu-chan's side. Other than that... I don't know. In Sanguiem, a vampire city, I'd always keep to myself in the cathedral there. It helped me think, and it was almost always empty... fortunately.

    - Describe what gives you the most strength.
Knowing I have someone to protect.
    OPTIONAL QUESTIONS
    - What is more important to you: embracing your individuality, or preserving the status quo?
Depends on what I need. Status quo if it's safer for the person I care about. Individuality if it's not. But I'd rather keep my head down and get out of things without having to draw attention to myself, if it's up to me.

    - Ultimate power comes at the cost of community. Being a part of a community comes at the cost of great power. Which would you choose?
I don't need community if I have power. Power means I can protect one person. So, power.

    - Do you consider the rules and laws to be an important part of society? How so?
They're a sham. They exist as placebos, but they can be broken at any time and no one can do anything when they are. If people come to punish those criminals, it's already too late. The damage has been done. The line in the sand's been crossed. And nothing can fix what's been broken.

    - Do you forgive easily, or do you hold grudges?
I'll never forget a grudge so long as I live.

    - Have you ever made a promise you can't keep?
... Yeah. And I'll carry the weight of all those failed promises forever.

    - What are you most proud of?
I have nothing to be proud of.

    - What would you describe as your weakness?
Other than being a disgusting vampire with a dwindling sense of humanity this stupid thirst for blood? ... I don't know. Yuu-chan, because he's so stupid he's basically like a huge Achilles Heel. But, other than that... I don't know. I guess I'm bad with people, but I don't want to be good with them, either.

    - Name one thing you refuse to compromise on, and why.
The things I believe in. No one can know what's right for me but me. They haven't lived my life, and they don't and won't understand how I've come to see the world the way I do. So there's no point in listening to these other people, who will never understand me. I know I'm right, so I'll stick to it.

    - What is your one wish or greatest desire?
... It's impossible now. But... I wanted to live out the rest of my days with Yuu-chan, happy. Somewhere quiet, and remote; just the two of us...

    - What piece of classical literature best represents you, and why?
I don't know. I didn't get chance to read all that much, but... Count of Monte Cristo, I guess. It's a story about righting wrongs.

And you can interpret it as all a dream. That the guy in the title, the Count, died in that jail cell, dreaming of a revenge, and dying a meaningless death after wasting away in jail. He never got his revenge. He never amounted to anything. He was wronged, and he died, and his life was pointless.

    - What animal would you want to be?
I don't really know. Maybe a panther. They're big, and efficient killers. They look the part, so people won't approach them.

    - What is your favorite color? Why?
... Green. It reminds me of Yuu-chan's eyes, I guess.

    - What is your favorite flower? Why?
I don't really have one. I guess there were some basic daisies that grew around the orphanage when I was a kid. They weren't really special, but the other kids would pick them and give them to each other a lot.

    - What arcana best represents you? Why?
    I don't know. Hanged Man?

    - Cats or dogs?
    ... Cats, I guess.

    CHARACTER
    Name: The Commander (Syrlya)
    Canon: Guild Wars 2
Canon point: shortly after Interlude: Forward
Age: 11, but mentally late-20s as Sylvari are born as full adults.

    History:

    - Upon Awakening, Syrlya was given a Wyld Hunt to fight the Elder Dragons. This is a literal impulse that constantly drives him to completing the destiny he's been given and shapes the entirety of who he is as a protector, resulting in it becoming essentially his entire identity because he's never truly had a life where he didn't have a sense of obligation to take care of the world.

    - The birth of Aurene, the newest Elder Dragon. Initially tasked with protecting her egg, Syrlya and Aurene had an immediate connection due to her imprinting on him and over the following years Syrlya acted as a guardian and parental figure, raising and guiding her along a difficult world-saving destiny. Her presence becomes so specifically important to him that her (temporary) death becomes the only thing to send him in so much despair he completely gives up on the world as a whole.

    - Discovering the Elder Dragons were deeply tied to Tyria's magic and that killing them the way they were risked a backlash that would destroy the world. This was discovered alongside having to save one of the dragons for the meantime, which had consequences on one of the other awake dragons. While there were prior instances of failures and harsh realities that Syrlya was forced to reckon with, the realization that the process of saving the world nearly led to its destruction broke his confidence in a way he never quite recovered from, and he became increasingly haunted by the guilt of his failures.

Powers: Syrlya's magical class is that of a Mesmer. Mesmers are mages that specialize in illusions (such as creating clones of themselves, distorting their opponents senses, or making things appear as something other than they are) and distorting reality (such as creating a dome that reflect projectiles, teleporting short distances, phasing his physical form so that attacks pass through him). His subclass is Chronomancy, which is using illusions and minor time distortion to distort his opponents perceptions of time and, in small areas, the entire flow of it (such as creating a bubble that causes enemies to move slowly in it, or creating a temporary rift that he reminds back to after a few seconds).

Mesmers also specialize mental influence, such as disorienting people's senses and causing harm by attacking their mind directly, rather than their physical body. He has mantras, verbally charged spells that fall into this subclass and act as self-wards from external effects and offensive assaults to the mind. He isn't able to control anyone (the closest is using illusions to create a sort of hypnotic suggestion, but this only works as far as the other person can be tricked). In theory he could access someone's mind directly (I.E. creating an illusion fully in their mind only they can see) but those sorts of spells are kept in secrecy among established Mesmer groups and Syrlya doesn't know any of them.

He's unable to create grand scale illusions or permanent breaks or changes to reality--it would require a level of magic more than he's capable of. Most spells last in the range of a few seconds to a minute, but clones can be maintained for longer because they are illusions connected to his form. They can only navigate a certain range around his presence and their actions are based entire on his will.

All the combat professions in Tyria have healing magic of varying capabilities, including Mesmers. Overall, Syr's healing capabilities aren't much better than alleviating shallow wounds and pain.

He also has a natural connection to plant life that allows him some influence over their growth, such as encouraging vines to grow in a specific pattern, making flowers bloom, or causing plants to grow faster than normal. The larger the plant, the longer the process, and he can't revive any plants from death--he can, however, help encourage their healing. They can innately sense things such as their state and health, but not physiological technicalities like their level of poison.

Mesmer | Chronomancer | Sylvari + Plant Manipulation

BIOLOGICAL STUFF: Sylvari are, literally, magic plants that take an approximate human form. This comes with some benefits owed to their physicality, such as a denser and more resilient body and the technical ability to regenerate lost body parts. They however heal at roughly the same rate as humans, so removing an appendage could take months or years to actually recover. While they have thermoreceptors, they're less adversely affected by temperature compared to a human being. Sylvari do photosynthesize, though it isn't enough to survive on by its own.

Between Sylvari is an empathetic mental connection, but only between each other as they originate from the same mental space before being physically born. They're like a pseudo-hivemind.

    CHARACTER SURVEY
    MANDATORY QUESTIONS
    - Of all the things you own or have owned, what is the most important to you?

"My sword, I suppose. I don't keep many possessions, but it would be troublesome to be caught without a weapon while traveling. The world can be a dangerous place so I've learned to always be prepared."

    - Where is it you feel most at peace, or most whole?

"The Grove, the home of my people. I rarely get the chance to visit, though--I have more time now than I did before. It's a strange feeling... even knowing that, I admit I have yet to return."

    - Describe what gives you the most strength.

"My friends--my family. Even those that have been lost. If we ever want to change the world, we cannot do it alone. I would not have been able to accomplish what I did without any of them by my side. Even if I wish they didn't have to suffer for it."

    OPTIONAL QUESTIONS
    - What is more important to you: embracing your individuality, or preserving the status quo?

"If embracing oneself causes such a disruption to things as they are, then perhaps it should change. Where would the world be if we accepted stagnation?"

    - Do you consider the rules and laws to be an important part of society? How so?

"They do draw a clear boundary between what is and isn't acceptable. Even we Sylvari aren't born with a certainty of what's right and wrong. There's so much to learn about the world first. But other races have so many complicated ones, and they aren't always fair. I believe it is best to challenge those."

    - Do you forgive easily, or do you hold grudges?

"I certainly prefer not to hold a grudge. People can change for the better, and a petty squabble is never worth losing a friend. But--some things are simply unforgiveable."

    - Have you ever made a promise you can't keep?

"... I've made promises that I failed to keep, but I would never give someone false hope by declaring something I knew I couldn't see through."

    - What would you describe as your weakness?

"I, ah, well. I have been told that I can be a hypocrite, but it hasn't interfered with my duty so is it really a weakness? Perhaps, my stubbornness hasn't always been helpful..."

    - Name one thing you refuse to compromise on, and why.

"I would never turn my back on people who need it, no matter how small their problem. No matter how big the greater problem is--we can't forget the reason we fight for the world. We can't forget what makes it worth fighting for."

    - Cats or dogs?

"Must I choose? Oh, cats, I suppose. Somehow I seem to find myself in their company more than any other animal."

    CHARACTER
    Name: Yodarha
    Canon: Granblue Fantasy
Canon point: Post 5* SSR Uncap (latest canon point possible)
    Age: 66

History: 1) A master swordsman in his youth, Yodarha founded a school to teach his craft in his middle age, attracting a wide swath of disciples. However, some took his teachings and decided to use them for evil instead of good. Brokenhearted by this, Yodarha hunted down several before eventually fading away into the shadows for several years. The only thing that pulled him out of his hermitage was a young captain of a skyfaring crew and his friends.

    2) Yodarha learned that his strongest disciple, a woman named Grace, was committing mass murders despite being injured in such a way that would make her unable to wield a normal weapon ever again. Donning his white robes, Yodarha followed the trail of bodies with the goal of striking her down for good, even if it cost him his life. He accomplished his task, but not without taking mortal wounds that would've killed a normal person. Fortunately, he survived the ordeal.

    3) After a long period of recovery, Yodarha was finally up and practicing his sword skills once more... but his inner fire was spent - he was missing something to strive for. Training alongside one of his pupils and some old warrior friends, Yodarha learned a new technique, the Serene Sinker - a method of swinging his sword so quickly that it's nearly impossible to see with the naked eye. With a new move to master, Yodarha's inner fire was re-lit, and he was finally able to rejoin the crew that he cared deeply for.

Powers: First and foremost, Yodarha is a master swordsman, able to clash head on with his world's strongest warriors at an even keel. As a harvin, his small frame makes him light and his feet and incredibly agile when it comes to movement. Finally, he appears to have a limited control of water magic, able to conjure thick mist out of thin air as well as following up his sword strikes with small bursts of water.

    CHARACTER SURVEY
    MANDATORY QUESTIONS
    - Of all the things you own or have owned, what is the most important to you?
Ohhh, that's a toughie. If I had to pick a physical item, I guess it'd be my white robes. They're a symbol of... things I'd rather forget. But I can't. I have to remember my failures just as much as my successes if I wanna keep moving onward and upward!
    - Where is it you feel most at peace, or most whole?
There's nothin' quite like sitting on the edge of a dock or a boat, fishing rod in hand, feeling the breeze through your hair as you watch the bobber float on the water's surface. The tension of waitin' for a catch, followed by the fish sailing through the air into your grasp... and of course the satisfaction of a filling and delicious meal on the other end of the act... Now that's true peace and true wholeness right there, hyuk-hyuk!
    - Describe what gives you the most strength.
It took me a long time to realize it, but the mutual respect and understanding from a mentor-pupil relationship is what keeps me goin'. If it weren't for the Captain, Katalina, and Rhens, I think I'd still be in hiding, regretting what I did in the past and never moving on from it.

    OPTIONAL QUESTIONS
    - What is more important to you: embracing your individuality, or preserving the status quo?
If I don't toot my own horn, who's gonna do it for me? Hyuk-hyuk!
    - Ultimate power comes at the cost of community. Being a part of a community comes at the cost of great power. Which would you choose?
Community. It's a no-brainer! And besides, if you have this 'ultimate power', that means you have nothing to improve on. And that sounds boring!
    - Do you consider the rules and laws to be an important part of society? How so?
They're important up until they start hurtin' people who don't deserve it. Laws are set in stone to keep people safe. If they can't do that, then they deserve to get railed against until things are fixed.
    - Do you forgive easily, or do you hold grudges?
You gotta do somethin' absolutely terrible to get me to hate you, hyuk-hyuk!
    - Have you ever made a promise you can't keep?
Yeah. And it was the worst thing I ever did. Never again.
    - What are you most proud of?
Watching my pupils grow and mature as they develop their skills. It brings a tear to my eye seein' them flourish!
    - What would you describe as your weakness?
In the past I would've said 'emotional attachment'. But nowadays I think it's stubbornness. I'll push myself to the brink and even go past it to accomplish what I think is right.
    - Name one thing you refuse to compromise on, and why.
I won't let people put themselves down without sayin' something about it. We all have areas to improve on, that's what makes us... us. To push it away and ignore it... I know that all too well, and it ain't a good path to go down.
    - What is your one wish or greatest desire?
My pupils wouldn't like to hear it, but to die in battle protecting the ones I care about the most is my greatest wish.
    - What is your favorite color? Why?
A nice deep blue. It reminds me of a big body of water, somethin' I can get lost in.
    - What arcana best represents you? Why?
Mmm, like those cards the Evoker folk use? Hermit seems fitting enough. I'm a man that spent a long time by myself, contemplating my own worth alongside nature. I even look the part of a hermit, hyuk-hyuk!
    - Cats or dogs?
What a hard choice! I like 'em both, but if I had to choose only one, dogs. They can be so loyal and helpful!

    LUNAE CALAMITAS
    Inventory:
1 & 2) Yodarha's twin swords. Balanced perfectly for him and him alone.
    3) A fishing rod sized appropriately for a harvin.
    4) A tackle box filled with all sorts of bits and bobbers, some of which were hand-crafted by Yodarha himself.

Sage Crest: Directly on his left eye, if that's a possible option! Otherwise I'm totally fine with the mods coming up with something else.

    CHARACTER
    Name: Jing Yuan
    Canon: Honkai Star Rail
    Canon point: Post-2.0 Update
    Age: 700+

History: 1. Meeting and becoming familiar with three others known as Baiheng, Yingxing, and Dan Feng. However, together with his previous mentor, Jingliu, who taught him many things, especially how to fight, all five individuals completed a mutual association that extended into a fast, yet tight friendship. This involved constant outings, such as social drinkings, and the like. An important and long-lasting memory, as Jing Yuan considers all those within the group, previously now, as still dear to him.

    2. The breaking up of the High-Cloud Quintet, and the Sedition of Imbibitor Lunae. With Baiheng losing her life to the battle of the denizens of Abundance, Jingliu going mad from being mara-struck, Dan Feng breaking multiple laws in order to try to revive Baiheng, and Yingxing doing the very same, the High-Cloud Quintet became no more. As a member of it, Jing Yuan bore witness to these events, unable to do much of anything to halt or stop them.

    3. The fight against Lord Ravager Phantylia. Phantylia, a denizen of the Abundance who so happens to be a part of the Antimatter Legion caused chaos upon the Xianzhou Alliance. Jing Yuan followed the Trailblazers, along a smaller contingent of personal forces, into battle within the Ambrosial Arbor. He did not expect to survive with the plan that he had, but despite that, he did, thanks to Dan Heng's newly re-awakened powers. Though, of course, this required him to rest up from the injuries he sustained in the battle.

    Powers:

Combat Ability: Jing Yuan has martial arts skill under his belt, taught by swordswoman Jingliu, and can wield polearms.

Lightning Affinity: Jing Yuan is able to pull off attacks with lightning attributes assigned to them. From regular moves in which singular enemies are targetted to more special moves, where all enemies are effected or targeted. He is also able to summon a being called Lightning Lord.

Lightning-Lord: Jing Yuan's lightning-themed summon that he can call onto the battle automatically at the start of the battle, though it can take a little while before it deals a powerful, multi-hit lightning-infused strike on an opponent. This summon can increase in speed and amount of hits it can aim towards an opponent if Jing Yuan utilizes AOE (all enemies getting targeted type of attack) lightning maneuvers. (In order to be taken down, Jing Yuan would need to be defeated, and it vanishes if he should be so.)

Long-lived Species: He's able to exist for a long time.

    CHARACTER SURVEY
    MANDATORY QUESTIONS
    - Of all the things you own or have owned, what is the most important to you? My face. After all, I was born with it, and I never had any problems with it in the slightest. [he laughs, thinking he's funny]
    - Where is it you feel most at peace, or most whole? I'd say right at home. I believe the reason why would be clear, wouldn't it?
    - Describe what gives you the most strength. Knowing that I'd be able to take a good rest right at the end of the day once I'm done with my tasks, and that should the worst happen, there is someone always ready to take my place. I'm counting both as the 'most'.

    OPTIONAL QUESTIONS
    - What is more important to you: embracing your individuality, or preserving the status quo? Asking such hard-hitting questions must be your job, huh?
    - Ultimate power comes at the cost of community. Being a part of a community comes at the cost of great power. Which would you choose? Why are you assuming it's this or that? I have never heard of such a strange statement where someone stated that such a thing is true. Or maybe, that's what you'd like me to think?
    - Do you consider the rules and laws to be an important part of society? How so? Without rules and laws, there can't be order. Chaos would reign. I've witnessed the consequences of what happens when those who are expected to observe it, break it.
    - Do you forgive easily, or do you hold grudges? Holding grudges just adds more wrinkles. I don't have time for that.
    - Have you ever made a promise you can't keep? Oh, definitely. [refuses to elaborate]
    - What are you most proud of? My sleep schedule.
    - What would you describe as your weakness? What weakness?
    - Name one thing you refuse to compromise on, and why. How I conduct my leadership, of course. It would be irresponsible of me. No matter the reason or decision, a leader must never waver.
    - What is your one wish or greatest desire? That's a good question.
    - What piece of classical literature best represents you, and why? Whatever doesn't put me to sleep. [yawn]
    - What animal would you want to be? A lion. [grins, as if amused]
    - What is your favorite color? Why? Why do I have to choose? Hmm, or rather...how about you guess? Why not humor me a little?
    - What is your favorite flower? Why? I'll get back to you on that. After all, there's so many to begin with. Lilies, lotus flowers, roses...I'm afraid I am genuinely stumped.
    - What arcana best represents you? Why? It's hard to say. Especially since I'm not quite familiar with which arcana you're speaking about.
    - Cats or dogs? Cats, of course. They can be loyal companions, and are willing to do as much for you as you do for them.

    CHARACTER
    Name: Ginger
    Canon: H&H: Roman Company
Canon point: Chapter 23, after he does a Bad and his feelings come crashing down, with a sprinkling of self-hatred.
Age: A little over 100, appears early 20s.

    History:
)) Ginger grew up in a demon neighborhood, but being half-angel, half-demon resulted in the other children bullying him. Honestly, he didn't mind the bullying and thought it was kind of stupid. Sure, he's half-angel, but he's also half-demon? Who cares...!! Except he did care - once they started mentioning Rum, his best friend and a full-blooded demon: "I bet [Rum's] sick of taking care of a freak like you." For the first time in Ginger's existence, he hated how different he was. How could he fix this unchangable thing? Child Ginger could only hide his angel face with a paper bag until Rum found him.

)) Being the son of an Angel of Purity and a Demon of Sexual Pleasure really messed with his upbringing. Once, he caught his dad watching porn, which opened the floodgates of... complications. It was then that he found out how babies were actually made, whereas before he'd gotten a trimmed down, SFW fairy tale version. He's been traumatized since, his platonic little heart (from his pure mom) now warring with his sexual imagination (influenced by his demon dad). He resents his dad for how wild his fantasies have gotten.

)) All half-bloods have to make a choice when they grow up: live officially as a demon or an angel. Not both. Ginger, despite his angel face, has always been more demon-leaning, always possessive of what's his. But... Rum prefers angels - or so Ginger thinks. As a child, Rum's first love was Ginger's angel mom. "Wouldn't you say angels are better than demons anyway?" he'd then said. Ever since, Ginger has been torn between his two sides and has yet to decide on one.

    Powers:
)) FLIGHT - From the red-black demon wings on his lower back. Not attached.

)) IMMORTALITY - Coming of age for angels/demons is around 100 years old.

)) DEMONIC TRANSFORMATION - The whites of his eyes become black, and he grows curled horns, wings, and a tail. Physically stronger in this form. His partial transformation lacks the horns.

)) COMBAT ABILITY - Not his expertise, but he works in the Enforcement Department, so.

)) DIVINE INFLUENCE – Compulsion skill. Due to being half-angel, but his success rate is about 50%.

    )) ????? - Doesn't need to use the bathroom.

    CHARACTER SURVEY
    MANDATORY QUESTIONS
    - Of all the things you own or have owned, what is the most important to you?
Rum's friendship, of course! I... absolutely don't want to lose that. No matter what.

    - Where is it you feel most at peace, or most whole?
... Sorry. I'm going to sound redundant, but by Rum's side. We've been together since we were born - and it's been, what - over a century? Can I be myself without him...? Ah...

    - Describe what gives you the most strength.
I said it, didn't I? But um... aside from the above... Support from the people around me, maybe.

    OPTIONAL QUESTIONS
    - What is more important to you: embracing your individuality, or preserving the status quo?
... Uh... The... status quo? I'm - still struggling with myself, so I wouldn't even know how to answer the first part.

    - Ultimate power comes at the cost of community. Being a part of a community comes at the cost of great power. Which would you choose?
Wait, why do we need ultimate power? For what??? I've never met God myself, but my boss Lucifer is definitely overworked, s-so...

    - Do you consider the rules and laws to be an important part of society? How so?
Yeah. It'd be absolute chaos otherwise. Ugh... I'm getting stressed out just thinking about how much clean-up that would take. Maybe that's the angel in me talking...

    - Do you forgive easily, or do you hold grudges?
Depends. I can forgive some people, but...

    - Have you ever made a promise you can't keep?
I'm, uh, kind of an idiot, so yeah. Yeah... Sorry...

    - What are you most proud of?
Being Rum's closest friend. His best friend. His more important friend. Though I guess he'd say I'm his biggest annoyance.

    - What would you describe as your weakness?
... My... my brain... Or maybe, my imagination...? And uh, I'm needy. Short-tempered. Sensitive. Possessive. Troublesome. Weak. Clumsy. A crybaby. Uh. I'm sure there's more... IS THERE ANYTHING GOOD ABOUT ME T_T -

    - Name one thing you refuse to compromise on, and why.
    Rum. BECAUSE.

    - What is your one wish or greatest desire?
The big one is... to be with Rum forever. Gah - that's embarrassing to say out loud. C-can we move on?

    - What piece of classical literature best represents you, and why?
Reading?? I don't really read about the 3rd Mankind unless it's work related, but... Maybe The Metamorphosis?

    - What animal would you want to be?
    Something loyal? Maybe a dog.

    - What is your favorite color? Why?
Golden brown. Well... You know... Rum.

    - What is your favorite flower? Why?
    Asiatic Lilies. Um, white.

    - What arcana best represents you? Why?
There's one called "The Fool," right? I don't know what it means, but I sure feel like one a lot of the time.

    - Cats or dogs?
Cats. ... If my dreams are anything to go by.

    CHARACTER
    Name: Shinjiro Aragaki
    Canon: Persona 3
    Canon point: Post-death
    Age: 18

    History:
    • An orphan with no real memory of his parents, Shinjiro grew up with Akihiko Sanada and Akihiko's younger sister Miki in the same orphanage. Whilst most of the memories are more good than bad, one night in their youth, they awoke to the building burning. While both boys managed to get out of it none the worse for wear, Miki was unable to escape and perished in the flames; an event that would define Akihiko's burning need for strength, and in turn, Shinjiro's gruffly protective and worrisome nature. Having lost both a friend and experiencing another's despair, this helped shape him into a serious yet thoughtful individual, playing at the voice of reason whenever possible whilst keeping other's best interests at heart.

    • In their first year of high school, on October 4th, a shadow was detected outside the grand structure of Tartarus for the first time. The three set out to deal with it before it could wreak too much havoc out in the streets. However, during this operation, Shinjiro started to lose control of his Persona due to it's instability. While somewhat controllable in Tartarus, the problem was the fact they were out in public; it proceeded to go on a rampage, slamming into a nearby house and destroying it. One woman lost her life from getting crushed beneath the rubble, whilst simultaneously orphaning her young son in the process, who saw the whole thing. Traumatized from taking someone's life and weighed down by guilt, Shinjiro left SEES and stopped attending school, closing himself off and attempting to forget the incident to no avail.

    • On the night of October 4th two years after, Shinjiro met Ken Amada in the alley behind Port Island Station- the exact place where Shinjiro had accidentally killed Ken's mother. Fully accepting the fact he deserved to die, he was ready to submit himself to whatever fate the younger boy wanted to give him, but the arrival of Takaya Sakaki threw a hammer in things; he revealed the fact Ken intended to take his own life after killing Shinjiro, before pulling a gun intending to kill them both. Getting shot after charging forward in a rage, Shinjiro then threw himself in front of a second bullet to save Ken after he tried to sacrifice himself. Bleeding out in Akihiko's arms after the late arrival of SEES, he told the younger boy to make the most of his life, before making Akihiko promise to look after him before finally closing his eyes for good.

Powers: While a normal human being himself, Shinjiro is capable of summoning a Persona, a manifestation of his personality and inner self. Shinjiro's Persona is Castor of the Hierophant Arcana, a solely physical-aligned Persona who's abilities focus on draining his vitality to hit harder. Abilities change with levels, and they have a max of 8 skills, so I'm going off with him capping at level 60 with the following skills:

Brave Blade - severe slash damage to one foe.
Bloody Charge - sacrifices HP to increase critical rate and the damage of the next physical attack.
High Counter - 20% chance of reflecting physical attacks.
Heat Wave - heavy strike damage to all foes.
    Debilitate - decrease one foe's accuracy/evasion/attack/defense for 3 turns.
Deathbound - deal heavy slash damage to all foes.
Endure - survive a fatal blow with 1% hp remaining.
Fatal End - medium slash damage to one foe, with a low chance of inflicting fear.

    CHARACTER SURVEY
    MANDATORY QUESTIONS
    - Of all the things you own or have owned, what is the most important to you?

...Why's that any of your business, anyway?

    [ A click of the tongue. ]

A pocketwatch. Not that I've got it anymore, but...someone gave it to me a long time ago. Someone important. Not that it matters anymore, since I don't have it. Happy?
    - Where is it you feel most at peace, or most whole?

You're pretty damn nosy. Dunno anything about feeling at peace or whole or whatever you want to call it...but I guess if I had to pick somewhere I actually like being, I'll say the kitchen. Gives me something to do.
    - Describe what gives you the most strength.

I don't focus on stuff like strength. Not the way some people do, anyway. I don't have anger, or some grand, noble purpose to fight towards. Spent too long scoldin' others for focusing too hard on it.

...So which is why I wouldn't really call it strength. But atonement...for somethin' that can't be fixed. And maybe because nobody else needs to get hurt if they can help it. I'm not a savior, or anything cheesy like that. Sometimes you reap what you sow, but no use in lettin' it happen if you can prevent it.

[ The last thing he needs is somebody else's blood on his hands. While he'd rather not be involved, nor is he gonna ignore stuff, either. ]

    OPTIONAL QUESTIONS

    - What is more important to you: embracing your individuality, or preserving the status quo?

I'm not interested in bending over backwards just to please someone. What I do ain't anyone's business but my own.

[ Well, when you think about it, he is still somehow the most normal of most of his friends...there's nothing wrong with doing normal things, now and then, even if you've got your own hobbies. If only some people knew how to relax properly... ]
    - Ultimate power comes at the cost of community. Being a part of a community comes at the cost of great power. Which would you choose?

All that talk about power and strength...doesn't really matter if you're sacrificin' everything just to get it. Having something to protect or whatever it is is fine, but what good is it if you've got nothing to protect in the first place? Not like I'm the kind of guy to be asking that question, though....
    - Have you ever made a promise you can't keep?

...A few. Not that I want to, though. Going back on my word's bad for my conscience, 'specially when it comes to promises but,...sometimes things happen, and it just isn't possible anymore. It's not something I'd do on purpose.
    - What is your one wish or greatest desire?

...If he could grow up well. If he manages to shake off that anger and live a good life, then I'd be pretty damn satisfied. Same goes for that muscle-bound idiot. Hangin' on to the past weighs you down, and nobody else needs to bear that weight. Not anymore.
    - Cats or dogs?

The hell kind of question is that? What's the point in choosing one or the other, seriously...but if you're going to nag for a serious answer, I guess dogs. Not that cats are worse, just to make that clear.

    CHARACTER
    Name: Solomon
    Canon: Obey Me!
Canon point: Nightbringer Chapter 11, after his apprentice falls into a coma
Age: 5000+, appears in his twenties.

    History:
    1) Solomon was born into a country where magic was viewed as heretical, leading to punishment and execution of both the user and their families. Due to his magical abilities present at a very young age, Solomon was secluded in a basement room with only a latticed window to the surface. In this basement is where he would meet an unnamed stranger who came to keep him company often during trips with their family. They became very close. However, a tragic event happened to this friend, one that Solomon does not feel courageous to speak about even to those close to him, but it was the moment he decided to escape from the basement and become a powerful sorcerer for humanity, despite how he had been treated.

    2) Ostracized by society into his adulthood due to his abilities, Solomon found his magical power growing, but attempted to keep it subdued from those around him. This backfired, as eventually his power grew so much that he repeatedly caused catastrophic amounts of damage to the human world outside of his control, enough that he was deemed a risk to humans, angels, and demons alike. At its worst, Solomon begged for time to be reversed to correct a horrible mistake. In his desperation, Solomon performed a conjuring spell of his own making to summon the demon Barbatos without a pact, nearly killing himself in the process. Barbatos would come to pact with Solomon for this action, nursing him back to health, and tasking him with guarding the Fountain of Knowledge in a realm outside of the three worlds of human, devil and angel. This Fountain would eventually earn him the title of "The Witty Sorcerer" and "Solomon the Wise".

    3) Though Solomon has held many apprentices, his current apprentice, Ibuki, showed promise that surpassed his own from the first week they met, befriending and training them over several years. Normally a secluded and independent person, Solomon found himself growing incredibly protective of Ibuki, and frantically pursued them when they suddenly vanished into spacetime. Stuck in the past and unable to bring them both back with his own power, Solomon acted as a guardian while Ibuki regained their magical strength. While retreating from an enraged Lucifer during an altercation in this past timeline, an accident at the Fountain of Knowledge sent Ibuki into a cursed coma with no means to dispel it. Solomon blames himself in part for this incident and is currently searching for a cure.

    Powers:

[All powers below, save for immortality, take considerably more effort to perform if Solomon is too close to the ocean.]

    - Immortality. A freak potion accident has left Solomon unable to age or to die from natural causes such as disease. He is still able to be injured, and can be killed with magical items, spells, and curses.
    - Demonic control. This includes summoning demons both with or without a pact, the ability to make a pact, the ability to amplify the natural powers of any demon within a pact, and the ability to force obedience of any demon within a pact.
    - Elemental manipulation. This includes water, wind, earth, fire, lightning, and light. He is able to conjure and manipulate these elements for attack purposes, or morph them for defensive purposes such as natural barriers, silencing, or binding spells.
    - Teleportation. This can be done instantaneously or through summoning of a portal. This can be performed on both himself or another person, though they have to be within range of incantation.
    - Speaking to animals. Wow he sure can talk to fish and dolphins and squirrels and stuff with his magic! Neat!
    - Power transfer - Able to temporarily transfer his magical strength to another magic user with similar affinity. This can last for up to 6 hours before returning to Solomon. Absorption by someone with a conflicting affinity can cause insanity.
    - Transformation magic. This includes temporarily changing the species of himself or another living thing, changing sizes of objects/creatures, morphing the shape of inanimate objects (ex. a flower petal into a ring) and changing creatures into objects (ex. a frog into a lily pad.)
    - Enchanting items. From a broom to a grimoire, he can enchant items to repair themselves, to levitate, to perform simple tasks, to compel someone to perform certain actions on use (ex. to tell a truth when opening an enchanted box), or to lock an item for his usage only. Delicate items cannot be repaired, and living things such as people can only temporarily be enchanted for levitation.
    - Illusion magic. Can conjure temporary illusions, such as floating lights in a dark space or a night sky with shooting stars overtop a ceiling. Illusions cannot be interacted with physically.
    - Dispelling curses. Can forcibly dispel weak curses and can untangle ancient or stronger ones if given the appropriate history and properties of the spell. Low level curses have a chance to bounce back to the user when used on Solomon.
    - Potion creation. Less magic and more Mad Science, he can turn about any combo of even remotely magical items into a potion of some nature given time and experimentation. Said potions are not always useful and often cause adverse affects. Potions are much harder for him to make without his magic, so I'll just count it as a power to be safe.

    CHARACTER SURVEY
    MANDATORY QUESTIONS
    - Of all the things you own or have owned, what is the most important to you?
Hmm... who's to say! Do you think you could remember everything you've ever owned? I wonder if there were more treasures I cared about in the past. But that's neither here or there, is it?

The most important thing is my freedom.

...Eh? Your face tells me that's not a satisfying answer. Did you need something tangible? Ahhh. Well, let's see. A sorcerer can't do much without their wand, can they? We can count that and call it even.

    - Where is it you feel most at peace, or most whole?
Under a starry sky. Some say that the night sky is the only place where the worlds truly meet one another. You can peer through the depths of the Devildom sky and find ripples of constellations from the human world, or see glimpses of the heavens. To sit underneath those stars with my dear apprentice and still feel some sort of awe? You could call it a good reminder.

    - Describe what gives you the most strength.
    Humanity, of course.

Watching it grow and learn to stand on its own... seeing how it constantly surprises me, just like Ibuki.... Hahah. Perhaps part of that is sentimental. But the pride I feel for the strength of humankind is better than any potion I could conjur.

    OPTIONAL QUESTIONS
    - What is more important to you: embracing your individuality, or preserving the status quo?
There's a time and place for keeping the balance. Nothing worthwhile can really be accomplished by sitting on your hands and waiting for change to happen, don't you think? Do what you believe is best and stand by the convictions that matter to you without apology. Dealing with the consequences is sometimes the better option than doing nothing at all.

    - Ultimate power comes at the cost of community. Being a part of a community comes at the cost of great power. Which would you choose?
    Hahah. What an unfair choice.

If we're being realistic, then I suppose my answer is power. But I'd say preserving community takes a good deal of power of its own, even if you grow apart from it.

    - Do you forgive easily, or do you hold grudges?
Hmm. You don't think it depends on the person? Not that it would change my reaction either way in most cases. I remember what's important to remember, and the rest can be water under the bridge.

[What grudges he holds can stay his own little secret at the end of the day. That's his own business, after all!]

    - Have you ever made a promise you can't keep?
Probably. But it's not a good habit to fall into for magic. And... well, I guess you could say I know intimately how dangerous it can be to promise the wrong thing at the wrong time.

    - What are you most proud of?
    My dear apprentice, of course.

    - What would you describe as your weakness?
    It's a secret~

Hahah, I'm kidding. Have you ever heard the phrase "curiosity kills the cat"? It's important for sorcery, but I always find myself in the strangest problems because of it.

I don't care much for the ocean any more, either. How very cat-like.

    - Name one thing you refuse to compromise on, and why.
Humanity is my interest, and I'm not a bartering chip. Whether other worldly parties take sides or bargain for my help is not really any business of mine, unless I see an overwhelming benefit. It's surprising how often I have to repeat myself with certain beings, though...

    - What is your favorite color? Why?
Blue. I'll just say it's nostalgic.

    - What arcana best represents you? Why?
The Magician. Wouldn't most people like to think they could be resourceful and driven when it truly counts? I think it's a good enough fit.

[The Hierophant in Reverse would also be fitting.]

    - Cats or dogs?
    Cats.

    LUNAE CALAMITAS
    Inventory:
    - His everyday clothes
    - Ring of Wisdom (an angelic magic ring that normally allows him to control 72 different demons without irreversible damage to his body and mind)
    - A black magic wand
    - D.D.D. (Devildom smartphone)
    - A gold pen with deep blue flowers on the casing.

Sage Crest: Ring finger, left hand, based at the knuckles.

Questions?: This canon is still ongoing in regards to filling in details on Solomon's backstory, though it's currently on seasonal pause. If new chapters are released that add to or adjust what I have written here during the course of the game, particularly for his history, would the mods like a revision or would you like me to play with only what is recorded here in this app? I can adapt either way, I just want to make sure to follow what the mods prefer just in case Solmare jumpscares us with more lore.

    CHARACTER
    Name: Maya Amano
    Canon: Persona 2
Canon point: From the first game, Innocent Sin--right after they remember everything at Mt. Iwato and then get the confirmation that yep, Nazis sure invaded.
    Age: 23

    History:

    1. Father's death:
When Maya was 8, her father passed away in a distant country while on an assignment. You see, Maya's father was a journalist and needed to travel to a warzone--it was his dream to do this sort of work, but Maya could only give him a good luck charm and count on his promise to return home. She genuinely loved and admired him, and his own attitude about the importance of his job and on following one's dreams would inspire her to carry similar ideals and aspirations by becoming a journalist. And although she still carries some buried bitterness about how he put his job over his family, it's clear that Maya longs to have her father back. This is seen in the way she clings to the plush bunny she once gifted him, and in the way her sadness can occasionally peek through when on the topic of parents.

    2. Summer with the Masked Circle:
Ten years ago, Maya met four elementary school children playing at a shrine, who had coined the name Masked Circle for themselves based on how they always gathered wearing their sentai masks. They warmed up to her immediately and Maya grew fond of them as well, teaching them the Persona Game and encouraging them to follow their dreams. However, becoming part of this playgroup eventually led to her getting caught up in an incident where an arsonist set fire to the shrine while she and one of the other kids were locked inside. As a result, Maya awoke to her Persona ability, which saved her life. However, the physical and mental scars from the incident resulted in lifelong pyrophobia and self-consciousness about the burns on her body. Over time, Maya forgot about this group, but unconsciously held on to a fondness for the kids she once played with.

    3. Remembering the past:
In what could be called a twist of fate, Maya and three of those four childhood friends found each other again, albeit without recognizing each other. Part of this might've been because they usually met while wearing their masks, but it was largely because they had unconsciously blocked the memories due to the trauma of the arson incident. At some point though, it becomes increasingly clear that what was happening in the present was tied directly to their past, so they visited the reflecting pools at Mt. Iwato, which revealed to them their forgotten memories. It's at this time that Maya also faces a Shadow version of herself, manifested by rumors. When the dust clears, Maya and the others recall that the last of their friends is the one tied up in all of this and they resolve to save him.

    Powers:
Maya has the power of Persona, which is described in-game as the power to summon the various selves that reside within someone. The Personas manifest as mythological figures and demons that represent particular archetypes in the human psyche, with the legends behind each of these figures loosely relating to the abilities that they grant their bearer (e.g. the sun god Apollo gives fire and nuclear element spells).

In Persona 2, everyone can more-or-less freely swap between a shared pool of Personas held by the party, so characters aren't limited to specific elements or skills as long as there's a Persona they can equip with the desired attributes. This means that technically any character can play the role of healer, support, offense, etc. but there's definitely those who do better with some roles than others. For Maya's part, her statline favours magic (confusingly called Dexterity in this game), which makes her a heavy hitter when it comes to slamming offensive spells on an enemy's head. Since Dexterity also affects magic defense, it also makes her effective at tanking magic hits.

With that said, she does have two main Personas which are viewed as her canon ones: Maia and Artemis. Anyway, without going into the nitty-gritty of their actual skillsets, both Personas generally specialize in ice, light, healing and then later almighty-element spells.

Maya also has strong affinity for Moon Arcana Personas, with Great affinity with Personas in other arcana (Magician, Hermit, Temperance, Star, Suit of Rods, Suit of Coins). Persona affinity is largely a gameplay mechanic that affects the amount of SP it takes to summon a particular Persona, but basically the way they spin it in-game is that even if people take on different faces, there are still some that they are more comfortable with than others. So essentially, this relates more to the personality of each character/video game balancing shenanigans rather than affinity for a specific type of skill or magic, but there you go!

Beyond the whole summoning mythological figures thing, there's a couple of other things that come with the whole Persona package:
  • Fusion spells: basically just your standard video game combination attack. If Maya and at least one other Persona-user uses the right spells in the right order, then you get a special spell that is typically stronger than the base spells. Or sometimes you get a bullshit effect that ends up killing your own party members. It's fine.

  • Persona resonance: essentially this is like an ability to sense other nearby Persona-users. It's far from guaranteed and it's not as accurate as any kind of radar, it's more like a vibe they get. However, if two Persona-users do know each other, then it seems like they can even sometimes pick up on the mood of their respective Personas. Honestly, the majority of the times it's there to just tell you when a boss battle is coming up, but it does have some plot significance since Personas seem to be able to recognize each other even when their users do not!

  • Passive influence to abilities: it's noted that Personas can grant certain types of skills (e.g. ability to wield a sword proficiently) and there's a couple of instances in-game where characters force open doors and whatnot using the strength from their Persona. Again, this dependent on the mythological figure and the game is kind of vague as hell about it besides, so besides probably making it harder to kill Persona-users, what it does is kind of variable!

  • Besides the supernatural powers, she apparently has the uncanny ability to win at rock paper scissors despite throwing scissors most of the time.

    CHARACTER SURVEY
    MANDATORY QUESTIONS
    - Of all the things you own or have owned, what is the most important to you?

[Well, this question doesn’t take much thought at all. Without hesitation, Maya takes out a small, battered-looking plush rabbit with a heart on it. Rather than appearing store-bought, the doll has a somewhat clumsy, handmade quality to it.]

This is Mr. Bunbun, my good luck charm! I don’t go anywhere without him. No matter how crazy things get, as long as I have him with me, I feel like everything will turn out alright. We've already gone through so much together, after all.

    - Where is it you feel most at peace, or most whole?

Before, whenever I hung out with Tatsuya-kun and everyone else, it felt like I'd found a part of myself that had went missing years ago... In the end, that wasn't far from the mark. Even if there are painful memories, we've shared plenty of good ones, too. There really is no other place I'd rather be than with them.

[Now, if only they could get back Jun-kun, too...]

    - Describe what gives you the most strength.

Right now, just being with everyone gives me strength. Tatsuya-kun, Eikichi-kun, Lisa, Yukki... We're all fighting together so we can put an end to this madness. Together, I know we'll be able to pull through!

    OPTIONAL QUESTIONS
    - What is more important to you: embracing your individuality, or preserving the status quo?

I can understand why the status quo would be important, but that shouldn't come at the cost of suppressing your self... Without exploring that individuality, I don't think you can find a dream to aspire to or understand who you really are. And isn't that an important part of being alive?

    - Ultimate power comes at the cost of community. Being a part of a community comes at the cost of great power. Which would you choose?

That all comes down to how you define power, doesn’t it? Strength in numbers is a saying, and if you get enough people working together, you can overcome almost anything.

Hm? That’s not answering the question? Ahaha… Sorry, sorry! I’d have to choose community, then. The only power I need is the power to make it to my deadlines!

[Okay, that last line was a bit of a joke, but the point still stands.]

    - Do you consider the rules and laws to be an important part of society? How so?

Well, laws are in place to protect the individuals in a society, so I think they're important in that sense. They establish norms for people and tell us what’s acceptable or not.

But laws and rules aren't perfect, either. People shouldn't just blindly follow them thinking they’re automatically doing the right thing… There are plenty of examples in history where they’ve been abused, after all.

[And sometimes doing the right thing requires a little rule-breaking… within limits, of course.]

    - What are you most proud of?

That would have to be when I first got my job at Kismet Publishing. It’s always been my dream since I was a kid to become a journalist, so every day’s been fulfilling since then! I’ve still got a ways to go before I get where I want to be, but one step at a time.

    - Do you forgive easily, or do you hold grudges?

I’m pretty good at not sweating the small stuff. If it’s something more than that, I’d still rather let bygones be bygones, if possible… Holding onto a grudge won’t change what’s already happened. Sometimes it’s not always as simple as it seems, either… People usually have their reasons for doing things.

[Of course, those reasons aren’t always good ones, either — she knows that pretty well too.]

    - What would you describe as your weakness?

Mmm, I'm not really great with mornings... I usually get home pretty late because of work, so it's always hard to get up early to go into the office. My roommate's always helping me out in the mornings, too.

Oh, don't get me wrong! I can wake up by myself, but she handles all the cooking and she helps me with my makeup too. Guess I'd say that's another weakness of mine, ahahaha...

[Well, that and just household chores in general?! Admittedly, she's still not too keen on fire either, although the fear isn't as bad as it used to be, considering she's already confronted those demons. Even so, it's not something she'd like to be startled with, that's for sure.]

    - What is your one wish or greatest desire?

I’d like to be able to balance my job and family life. I don't have anyone special right now, though. Everything’s just been so busy, and I just don’t have the time to go looking for one, hahaha... You could say it's a goal for the future!

    - What animal would you want to be?

If this was about what animal I'd like to eat, I'd choose crab, no question. But I guess I'm a crab already, huh?

Hm? What do I mean by that? Oh, because my sign's Cancer!

    - What is your favorite flower? Why?

There's a type of honeysuckle that means "hope for tomorrow" in the language of flowers. They're pretty cute, too--if there are around here, I can show one to you sometime!

    - Cats or dogs?

That's a tough choice, but I'd have to go with cats. They can come off as independent and aloof at first, but once they get comfortable, they can be pretty friendly. Kind of like someone I know, actually!

    LUNAE CALAMITAS
    Inventory:
    1. A pair of pink handguns: the default ones she comes with at the beginning of the game are Colt Ponies so I'd guess each of them has a 6 round magazine, tops?
    2. Mr. Bunbun
    3. Handbag: contains her lunch along with miscellaneous stuff like stationery, money, etc.
    4. Cell phone: it's from the 90's, don't expect much.
    5. Small flashlight

Sage Crest: On her right forearm!

Questions?: Not really a question but feel free to just leave her with a can of crab or something if you'd rather not have the handbag and its contents count as a single item.

PAIR CLAUSE: Lunae Calamitas is a mod pair game, which means we are assigning your character a pair in secret. These fated pairs are not meant to be romantic. CHARACTER
    Name: Ahito
    Canon: Hibiki’s Magic
    Canon point: End of series
    Age: 16

    History:

-As a child, he was given healing magic to heal a girl his age whose magic had been unlocked after a tragic accident that wounded her and killed her family. His magic was the result of magical experiments, and because magic in his world takes sacrifices based on the person, his magic took his own health as its toll. He survived thanks to various surgeries performed to keep his body functional, but became nearly blind in his right eye. The girl, Mizuki, passed away when his body was no longer strong enough to endure the sacrifice to heal her. This would lead him to harbor a hatred of magic, least of all because his own parents were involved in the experiment as researchers themselves.

-As a teen he enrolled in the Kamisaid Magical Academy due to the low tuition cost and the chance to learn more about his enemy. Partway through his education there, he was assigned a young teacher by the name of Hibiki who was perpetually anxious and hardly seemed to know a thing about the magic she was supposed to teach. He challenged her to a duel to prove the might of machines and got trapped in a spell that made him relive his traumatic past - only for Hibiki to try to pull him out and get caught up in it too, crying for the pain he endured. Intrigued by her determination and bleeding heart, he decided maybe not all mages are bad after all. That, and... well, maybe if he sticks around with her, someone will actually care when his inevitably short life comes to its end.

-By insane coincidence, a girl named Setsuna transferred to his class who looked and sounded exactly like a teenage Mizuki, not helped by her penchant for constantly injuring herself. Haunted by past trauma, he put it upon himself to keep healing whatever random wounds she managed to accumulate, at the cost of his own health. Due to various circumstances, he ends up with a choice: leave a critically wounded Hibiki to die, or cut all ties to Mizuki. He chooses to save Hibiki’s life with what healing he can muster, and it turns out to be just enough - she’s healed enough that she can make a full recovery on her own, and he is finally able to move past the guilt of not being able to save Mizuki in the past.

Powers: Healing magic; he can heal anyone ill or injured, so long as he looks directly at them. Wearing sunglasses is enough to obstruct his vision and prevent healing, though he typically avoids looking entirely just to be safe. When using this magic, his own health is impacted, potentially permanently depending on the severity of the wound or illness.

    CHARACTER SURVEY
    MANDATORY QUESTIONS
    - Of all the things you own or have owned, what is the most important to you? I’d be in serious trouble without these shades, but they can always be replaced.

    - Where is it you feel most at peace, or most whole? Teach’s class, I guess. It’s so peaceful, I could fall asleep.

[...But it’s mostly bluster. He really does enjoy spending time there.]

    - Describe what gives you the most strength. Seeing that tiny teach doing her best to keep control of the class.

[Snickering at the thought - but still, fondly.]

    OPTIONAL QUESTIONS
    - What is more important to you: embracing your individuality, or preserving the status quo?

Individuality, obviously. Mages are the current status quo, and who needs them and their stupid magic, anyway?

    - Ultimate power comes at the cost of community. Being a part of a community comes at the cost of great power. Which would you choose?

...Between those two? Great power. ...I won’t last long enough to need much of a community, anyway.

    - Do you consider the rules and laws to be an important part of society? How so?

Pffffft, do you know who you’re talking to? If I cared a bit about rules, I’d be a star student. But where’s the fun in that?

    - Do you forgive easily, or do you hold grudges?

Of course I hold grudges. I won’t ever forget what those people did to me - and I won’t rest until they’re gone for good.

    - Have you ever made a promise you can't keep?

    ...

    Yes.

    - What are you most proud of?

Betcha didn’t even notice I’m half blind, did you? You’d never know, my aim’s that good.

    - What would you describe as your weakness?

    Wouldn’t you like to know?

    - Name one thing you refuse to compromise on, and why.

I will never forgive the people who used me as a guinea pig for their magical experiments.

    - What is your one wish or greatest desire?

To see that organization burned to the ground.

    - What is your favorite color? Why?

    ...Gold, maybe. No particular reason.

[Though judging by the distant look, that’s a lie.]

    - What is your favorite flower? Why?

Never really paid attention to them.

    - Cats or dogs?

No preference. They’re both okay; can’t really keep any pets when gran’s already so old.

    CHARACTER
    Name: Urianger Augurelt
    Canon: Final Fantasy XIV
    Canon point: post-Endwalker
    Age: 29

    History:

    1. Urianger spent much of his early childhood alone, with his nose buried in books as his parents neglected him in favor of their studies. He was later adopted by a neighboring family to be properly cared for, and it was thanks to this that he met Moenbryda, the family's daughter. She did her absolute best to understand Urianger's eccentricities and help him come out of his shell to interact with the other children of Sharlayan. It's also thanks to her that he'd attend the Studium to further his studies in prophecy and later become a disciple of Louisoix. To say her influence on him was massive is an understatement.

    2. Urianger's decision to join Louisoix's Circle of Knowing was another major turning point in his life. This group of Sharlayan Archons was founded with the goal of saving Eorzea from an impending calamity. After said calamity was (mostly) averted, the Circle of Knowing would go on to become part of the Scions of the Seventh Dawn. Urianger would dutifully follow in Louisoix's footsteps of laboring for the greater good of Eorzea, going even further to participate in many major events to save the entire world from ruin.

    3. While always firmly on the side of good, Urianger's methods often involved secrecy and duplicity. He'd work behind the backs of both friends and enemies to orchestrate plots that would ultimately solve a problem, but not without sacrifice or loss of trust. He regretted these decisions and carried a great weight of guilt with him until he finally got it off his chest in Endwalker. With the world's fate at stake, Urianger stepped forward to put his own life on the line in order to pave the way for the Warrior of Light's victory, showing his newfound conviction to support his friends and never again walk in the shadows.

    Powers:

Prophecy: Urianger is skilled at all methods of divination and interpreting the omens of others. It's been his subject of interest since he was young, and he'd later go on to study it in earnest at the Studium. He's pretty much the Scion's go-to for cryptic nonsense that they come across.

Astromancy: Urianger's main class in playable content is Astrologian, which goes hand in hand with his gift for Prophecy. Astrologians look to the stars for guidance, attuning to the movements of celestial bodies and using a deck of arcana to interpret their fate. This is represented in combat with healing magic and supportive skills like providing buffs and shields to allies. Astrologians also have a few offensive spells to round out their kit.

Summoning: In a more DPS-oriented role, Urianger takes up the unique job of Lithomancer, someone who divines the future with stones, but it's represented by the general Summoner job. Using a grimoire and magic-infused gemstones, Summoners are able to summon the essences of primal beasts to unleash powerful offensive spells.

    MANDATORY QUESTIONS
    - Of all the things you own or have owned, what is the most important to you?

[His hand drifts up toward the tattoo on his cheek.]

'Twould be the mark of the Archon. A high academic honor bestowed unto me by the Sharlayan Forum, this arcane crest doth represent my devotion to the subject of prophecy, as well as my contributions to the realm. 'Tis an ever-present source of motivation for me to continue honing my craft and push myself toward new discoveries.

    - Where is it you feel most at peace, or most whole?

In the company of my companions. The exact location matters little, particularly now that we've since parted ways to pursue our individual interests, but were I to select one... I would say I rather enjoyed the last time I visited The Last Stand. The food was delicious, to say nothing of the wine... Ah, but the company was of the most import. Even in the face of a looming calamity, we had a marvelous time. Verily, 'twas a testament to the idea that one can find peace even in the most dire of circumstances.

    - Describe what gives you the most strength.

Mayhap this is of little surprise following thy previous question, but my comrades are my source of strength. We have weathered a myriad trials and tribulations together, and their unwavering ability to surpass all obstacles for the sake of our star never ceaseth to amaze me. On a more personal level... Were it not for their support and faith in me, I would not be the man that I am today.

    OPTIONAL QUESTIONS
    - What is more important to you: embracing your individuality, or preserving the status quo?

While there is a time and place for the so-called status quo, it can become a trap, surrendering some establishments into complacency. Many times have I and my compatriots challenged that complacency for the benefit of society.

    - Ultimate power comes at the cost of community. Being a part of a community comes at the cost of great power. Which would you choose?

Should that power be used in service to the community and keep it safe, then I would give up my place within said community to wield it.

    - Do you forgive easily, or do you hold grudges?

I am not one to bear grudges, but some actions are difficult to wholly forgive... Mine own the most difficult of all.

    - Have you ever made a promise you can't keep?

...I have, yes, in service to a greater purpose. 'Twas a guilt that I carried with me for quite some time. Henceforth I have vowed to never again make empty promises, and I have every intention to make good on that vow.

    - What would you describe as your weakness?

Ah... 'tis embarrassing to admit, but mine ability to swim is...sorely lacking.

[There is a more serious answer to this but we're taking the comical route.]

    - What is your one wish or greatest desire?

The continued peace and prosperity of Etheirys.

    - What animal would you want to be?

An owl would suit me quite nicely. Well-known are they for their wisdom, and they are a common symbol in mysticism. Practically speaking, I enjoy the idea of flying free amongst the stars in the night sky.

    - What arcana best represents you? Why?

Art thou familiar with the Eorzean arcana? I most resonate with the Ewer, Thaliak's vessel from which all knowledge flows. 'Tis said that when drawn, this card shall always point one toward the truth. A most fortuitous boon for my love of knowledge.

    - Cats or dogs?

Ah, a question for the ages. Forsooth, I have never given it much thought myself. I possessed no time for pets growing up, nor do I foresee that changing in the future. However, I do enjoy the company of cats whenever the opportunity presents. I rather admire their sense of independence.

    LUNAE CALAMITAS
    Inventory:

    1. A star globe.

    2. A deck of arcana.

    CHARACTER
    Name: Joyous Day
    Canon: Original Character (Exalted TTRPG)
Canon point: After helping a girl escape the city of Gem and a political marriage.
    Age: 23

    History:
    • Day was a foundling who, while never officially adopted, was raised in a small town shrine by a monk, Ten Paths Travelled, along with another foundling, Fern. He was a very rowdy kid who chafed against life in a rural farming town and never really felt like he fit in there. His guardian being a respected monk shielded him from being treated even worse by the townfolk, but she also tried to discipline him. She taught him martial arts as an outlet for misdirected energy and wasn’t afraid to be hard on him as needed. She was also open-minded about his interests, only concerned that he would live a life he could be proud of. When he moved to the city, Path told him he would always be welcomed back at the shrine. Basically, he could have been a much worse person if it wasn’t for his adopted family.

    • At 18, after a week of increasingly uncanny coincidences and portents, Day finally got to perform in a leading role he understudied for after the lead actor fell ill. During the climax of the show he had what could be described as a moment of enlightenment, an understanding of how to make it an unforgettable performance, and the show was a success. And then it came crashing down when he discovered that no one remembered or recognised him afterwards, even the other cast members. This was when someone from Heaven’s Bureau of Destiny found him to explain what happened to him: that he had been Chosen by fate, and that his life up until that point was effectively over. She extended an invitation to join the bureau, which he accepted. He’s mostly accepted that he’ll never get his old life back, but it’s why he can seem distant even when he’s friendly.

    • Day has been assigned to monitor a person of interest in an investigation against a god, and as part of that assignment, he’s gone undercover as a member of a performance troupe. He soon learns however that everyone else in the troupe is some manner of oddity as far as the Bureau of Destiny would be concerned. By all rights, he should at least make the bureau aware of them, but hasn’t mentioned this in any of his reports. Day doesn’t think potential scrutiny from on high would be in their best interests, even the one who he’s fairly certain is guilty of serious crimes. He’s using the discretion afforded to him to choose his ethics over due process, has even recently gone against destiny thanks to them, and boy is he stressed even as he’s trying not to show it. He still has to do his job, too.

Powers: First of all, I’m so sorry Exalted is Like This, and doubly sorry for all the weird powers.

    • Sidereal Exalted: Day is a mortal blessed by one of the goddesses of the stars and destiny, acting as an agent and champion on their behalf. His specific patron is Venus, the Maiden of Serenity who oversees joy and peace. He can use Essence, the setting’s qi/mana equivalent, to perform supernatural feats, and is naturally stronger, faster, and more durable than a regular human being, as well as heals faster. He is intrinsically tied to the stars as well as fate and destiny, allowing him to manipulate causality to a degree. He can also check whether a person’s interpersonal relationships or happiness aligns with destiny.

    • The Signs of Venus: Day can make either the lesser sign or greater sign of Venus to invoke certain effects. The lesser sign of Venus blesses allies near him with inspiration, making them more likely to be successful when trying to influence others involving positive emotions, or when they undertake crafting or artistic projects. The greater sign of Venus forces all participants in a battle to stand down and lay down their arms, lasting for up to 2 days. If someone under this effect wants to reinitiate hostilities, they have to willpower their way through the magical compellment unless they’re acting in self-defense.
    • Prophecies: Sidereals can make prophecies, essentially predictions that fate will attempt to self-fulfil, like say, predicting a town will have good harvests for the next five years. Since fate and destiny are managed by a celestial bureaucratic body in Exalted, prophesizing often involves submitting paperwork and navigating office politics and red tape.

    • Resplendent Destinies: Sidereals are cursed with Arcane Fate, which makes it so that they cannot be remembered as their original/true identities, whether in living or written memory. Mortals will forget a Sidereal as soon as they leave their presence, with their memories attributing a Sidereal’s actions to someone else or another cause. Supernatural beings, especially powerful ones, are more resilient against this, but only other Sidereals and their patron goddesses are fully immune. Sidereals work around this memory loss by using Resplendent Destinies, which are mystical cover identities designed to fit a certain archetype or role. “Joyous Day” is actually a Resplendent Destiny Day is using for his current assignment, but he’ll still introduce himself by this name in-game regardless.

In-universe, Sidereals’ powers are derived from the constellations and the themes and scripture associated with them. I’ll be listing the ones Day has a significant affinity with and according to the game’s ability trees for the sake of organization.
    • Dodge: Based on the Ewer, the sign of love, idealism, and finding joy in facing peril and overcoming despair. Powers associated with the Ewer showcase the ability to evade danger and trouble, both literal and figurative. Day can dodge a variety of things beyond ordinary attacks: otherwise undodgeable attacks, environmental hazards, fall damage, social influence; if it’s hostile, he is theoretically capable of ‘dodging’ it. With enough creativity, he can also dodge even abstract troubles, such as debts, performance reviews, feelings, etc. He can outright try to extricate himself from an unpleasant or perilous situation by, essentially, asking fate to pretend he was never there at all, though the deeper he’s already in said situation, the more difficult it is to get fate to let that happen. When it works, he’s moved to another place a distance away, while every other person involved will forget he was there. He is notably able to also convince fate that he’s dodged attacks towards a nearby ally on their behalf, and can instantly appear by their side to intercept an attack intended for them.

    • Performance: Based on the Musician, the sign of joy in living, well-deserved leisure and finding perfection in an imperfect life. Powers associated with the Musician can affect performances of all kinds, whether formal or social. People meeting him for the first time, as well as those who share food, drink or music with him, are more likely to have a positive impression of him. He can also use these powers to make it a little easier to inspire calm or happiness in others when interacting with them. If he participates in a ceremony or ritual, he can attempt to bless other people also participating with good fortune in matters related to it. If he plays his patron maiden’s song, all allies listening to it will have an easier time staying clear-headed (especially if acting on positive or compassionate feelings), become more resistant to unnatural mental influence and immune to attempts to instil negative emotions in them.

    • Athletics: Based on the Rising Smoke, the sign of a journey’s end, quick but painful deaths, and hunger. Powers associated with the Rising Smoke are expressions of superhuman athleticism and do funny things to causality. Day can instantly destroy an item by “consuming” its future through touch, though larger or more complex items can take longer. He can ignore debilitating injuries or other conditions that would normally impede his movement, even if it may or may not still be painful. He is capable of moving without having to physically cross a space as long as there’s a clear path between Point A to Point B, essentially acting like a short-ranged teleport; he can’t move through walls, for example, but can cross a rapid river without having to tread through the water or move between hiding places without being seen.

    • Martial Arts: This isn’t a supernatural power, just worth noting. Day practises Mantis Style, which is a martial art focused on grappling and rapid strikes. It’s well-known for its ability to subdue without killing, and Day is proficient in it as an unarmed fighting style and with a three-section staff.

    CHARACTER SURVEY
    MANDATORY QUESTIONS
    - Of all the things you own or have owned, what is the most important to you?
I got this little amulet, you see. My sis made it for me ‘fore I left town. I think they’re supposed to be prayer beads, but I’ve never used it for that and she sure as hell knew I wasn’t gonna. Five by ten beads for the count of the Dragons, which I guess is supposed to make it lucky or something. We didn’t have much stuff, and I have even less stuff from her left, so… I’ve kept it the whole time, yeah.

    - Where is it you feel most at peace, or most whole?
Haha, well…this is prob’ly gonna sound a little silly since it ain’t like I pray much these days, but a shrine. Not one of the big ones in the city that gets throngs of people, I mean a small, quiet one. Grew up in one, and if you’re talking ‘bout being at peace, then that’s where it’d be for me. I wouldn’t ever go back to living in some small town, but some things, you don’t realise how much you miss ‘em until you’re far away from it.

    - Describe what gives you the most strength.
If I say love, am I gonna get smacked up the head for the cheesy answer? Nah? I think I’ve only made it this far ‘cause of the love I’ve received in my life. Even if it ain’t the same anymore, the fact you were once loved still means something. It’s not a waste.

    OPTIONAL QUESTIONS
    - What is more important to you: embracing your individuality, or preserving the status quo?
If preserving the status quo was something I cared much about, I woulda had an easier time growing up, I’ll tell you that much. Kept being myself even if it meant starting crap. Or I guess I started crap ‘cause I kept being myself?

After I moved to the city though, I learnt that sometimes, keeping the right to exercise your individuality means you have to bow to the status quo at least a little. Funny how that works.

    - Ultimate power comes at the cost of community. Being a part of a community comes at the cost of great power. Which would you choose?
Man, if you asked me this a few years ago I prob’ly would have answered “ultimate power”, but now I would say community. Fate can always give and take away power with a snap of its metaphorical fingers, but a community, once lost, is hard to replace.

    - Do you forgive easily, or do you hold grudges?
I don’t think I really forgive easily, it’s more like most of the time I got bigger stuff to worry ‘bout these days. Maybe I should say I forgive, but I ain’t always gonna forget if it’s serious enough.

    - Have you ever made a promise you can't keep?
…A few, yeah. It ain’t like I want to go around making promises like that, but sometimes…well, in the moment, it’d be weird or even hurtful not to, and I don’t always get to explain myself. It still leaves a bad taste in the mouth, so I try not to anymore.

    - What are you most proud of?
My stamina, and ‘fore you take it the wrong way, I’m saying this ‘cause I used to have to keep up with a schedule straight from hell. I think I get to be proud that I could still do it without going bonkers.

    - What would you describe as your weakness?
Let’s just say I know a bunch of seniors who are even better at their craft than I am. It ain’t like they treat me badly or anything, but sometimes I remember they could run circles ‘round me if they ever feel so inclined to.

[ This is a way of saying his much older colleagues at his real job are hard for him to deal with sometimes, even if they mean well. ]

    - What is your one wish or greatest desire?
I’d like to know how the old lady and my sis have been doing. It’s been a long while since I’ve last heard from them.

[ A slightly more honest answer is that he wishes he could have the life he might have had, if he hadn’t become a Sidereal. But he knows that boat has sailed, and it’s not really something he should wish for. ]

    - What piece of classical literature best represents you, and why?
Uh, I don’t think anything I’d call ‘classical literature’ would be something you’d know, so this is a little hard. I guess scripture counts, so let’s say the Scripture of the Hunted Maiden. I’ll spare you the whole thing, but it’s ‘bout a maiden chased from her homeland, and the last line goes like this: “Love is smiling at your troubles.” That’s something I want to try living by, at least.

    - What is your favorite flower? Why?
Plum blossoms, ‘cause they’re one of the few flowers that bloom in winter. And I like plum wine besides, so I oughta appreciate the flowers too.

    - Cats or dogs?
If I had to pick just one? Cats. Both are cute, though.

    LUNAE CALAMITAS
    Inventory:
1/2. An erhu and its accompanying case.
    3. A set of prayer beads of 5 colours, 10 beads each.
    4. The clothes on his back, which is awkward since there are some blood stains on them at this canon point.

Sage Crest: I leave this up to the mods! I only ask that it not be on his left arm or hand, because he already has a tattoo there.

Questions?: I’m assuming Arcane Fate and the accompanying memloss isn’t applicable in-game since it’s tied to some canon-specific stuff, but I am always game to play with anything involving true names or such. If it ever becomes relevant, I kind of want to say any written record of his real name will always go through some accident or mishap such that it doesn’t keep, if that’s cool?

    CHARACTER
Name: Cid Kagenou (and sundry aliases)
    Canon: The Eminence in Shadow
Canon Point: Anime, end of S2 when he jumps into the Black Rose
    Age: 15 (+ 18, thanks reincarnation)

    History:

    EARLY LIFE, EARLY INSANITY, DEATH

In his first life, Cid was Kageno Minoru, a regular Japanese high-schooler. He was also secretly a crazy dilettante cultist who tried a bunch of extreme New Age woo-woo stuff and bizarre religious and black magic bullshit to try and become a magician. All this to become an "Eminence in Shadow", a fictional archetypal mastermind who moves the world from behind the scenes. His ultimate ambition is to survive a nuclear bomb unscathed.

Of course, he also mastered the art of acting unremarkable in order to properly elevate his shadowy mystery. By day he was a totally forgettable student; by night he was the Fancy Hoodlum Slayer and Ski Mask Berserker and went around beating up criminals. That is, until he tried the art of running into a forest buck-naked to bash his head against a tree as part of his magic training and subsequently got hit by a truck.

REINCARNATION, REINCARNATED INSANITY, THE FOUNDING OF SHADOW GARDEN

Then he found himself reincarnated into a low-ranking baron's family; the one thing that stood out was that they produced generations of dark knights, warriors who wielded magic with the sword in battle. When he became aware of all his memories from his previous life at a few months old, he began training his newly acquired magical powers and never stopped. He also became the Fancy Bandit Slayer and actually slew bandits. Nevertheless, he continued to pass himself off as an "ordinary" nobleman's son in daily life as he entered the Midgar Academy for Dark Knights.

He also founded Shadow Garden, his very own secret organization led by his alter-ego Shadow. In practice, it's both the resistance against the villainous Cult of Diablos and also Cid's fanclub of of girls who owe him for saving their lives from being cursed. Cid himself thinks the entire thing is an elaborate LARP.

    AURORA THE CALAMITY WITCH EVENT

Perhaps his most important encounter was with Aurora the Calamity Witch: during the Goddess' Trial in the city of Lindwurm, the one day of the year when the city's special Sanctuary is open. The trial allows warriors to battle those from the past; Cid battled Aurora and opened access to the Sanctuary, prompting an entire invasion by Shadow Garden and various guests. There, they find more information about the Cult of Diablos, which used the Sanctuary as a laboratory -- but Cid himself misses all this and instead wanders around with Aurora trying to break her seal.

They end up destroying the entire Sanctuary and freeing Aurora, who is merely a fragment of the demon Diablos. It's debatable whether Cid knows any of the particulars, but at least there was a demonic bonding experience.

    Powers:

    SKILLS

    1. Martial Arts: Canonically, he's devoted himself to learning the art of fighting -- everything from karate to boxing to mixed martial arts and more -- and synthesized his own unique and efficient fighting style. He prides himself on fighting as logically and with as few movements as possible, likes to combine offense and defense to the point of cheerfully allowing himself to get stabbed as long as he can stab his opponent too, and really enjoys leaving illusionary after-images for his opponents to get mad at even if he isn't a ninja. All his fighting techniques are reinforced by both magic and his body self-modification, please see the Magic #2 section.

    2. Swordplay: This is sort of an offshoot of the above, but his swordplay is notable because as a dark knight his canon fighting is very much focused on using swords and other types of blade-like implements. In his canon world, magic as well as magic-infused objects that get too far from their wearer's body will rapidly lose power -- that's why most magic users focus on close combat or short-range projectiles rather than any long range fighting. Cid has multiple styles of swordplay -- his own is unique and just as efficient and honed as his martial arts, but he also dabbled in a more florid, showy style that he uses when he feels like it. As with martial arts, all his techniques are reinforced by both magic and body self-modification, please see the Magic #2 section.

    3. Art of Disguise (Dubious): Cid demonstrates remarkable skill at keeping up with a number of personas and distinguishing them to the point where it's hard to connect them for people not in the know or who don't possess specific supernatural senses. His "normie" persona is Cid Kagenou, the totally average student and hum-drum dark knight who's the disappointing one in his family; his "eminence in shadow" persona is Shadow, the leader of Shadow Garden hidden behind a mask who speaks dramatically and appears mostly to fight and look cool; his pre-reincarnation persona, "Kageno Minoru", is very similar to Cid with the exception of being a bit more outwardly chuuni (can't exactly make NPC references in a world where no one knows what they are); he also has a couple of one-off personas, "Mundane Mann" where he used a fake face and fighting style to enter a tournament, and "John Smith" which was another one-off that had a totally different skill set. He's well on his way to building even more alternate identities.

    4. Forty-Eight Hands of Minor Mystery: Hidden Normie Techniques: These are well-polished techniques ranging from the mundane to the literally supernatural that Cid uses to maintain his Extremely Normal Person status. Examples include Spinning Guard, Bloody Tornado (used to fake-spew blood while spinning away from a strike); Swiss-Cheese Dance, Bloody Marionette (used to pretend to be struck by bullets); and notably, Ten-Minute Death, Heartbreak Mob (allows the user to stop their heart and keep blood-flow running to the brain with magic, then restart their heart later; the ultimate fake-out death technique).

    MAGIC

    1. Dark Knight Abilities: Dark knights have a range of superhuman abilities thanks to their mastery of magic -- they have greater speed, strength and stamina than common folk as well as quicker self-healing; it's noted that they're also resistant to firearms. Cid himself has elevated these to truly extraordinary levels thanks to his training; he's also able to completely conceal his own presence for maximum stealth as well as detect the magic, attacks and presence of others. He is also able to see magic as grains of colored light.

    2. Self-Modification (Physical/Magical): Starting from when he was a baby, Cid has been restructuring his own body and magical pathways using magic -- he notes that he is able to rearrange muscles, nerves and bones for optimal combat configurations; in the most extreme versions of this, he's able to shift organs including the heart out of harm's way during combat. He has also advanced his use of slime-based magical accessories to the point where he has fused his own flesh and magical pathways with slime; it wouldn't be an exaggeration to say that he is at least a little bit part-slime at this point. Other biological effects of his magical power include: the ability to temper his stomach to consume just about anything, the ability to go without food for a month and without water for ten days, and the ability to extend his own lifespan by hundreds of years.

    3. Overdrive: This is a fairly straightforward technique that breaks the magical limits of the body in order to use stronger techniques; if used excessively it can lead to physical damage to the user. Cid is practiced at this and uses it fairly often. The most visible sign of magical overdrive is the eyes turning red.

    4. Magic Control: Also a relatively straightfoward concept where the user manipulates magic with extreme precision for a variety of applications -- in Cid's case it manifests most often in the compression or concentration of magical power into denser forms that allow its output to be amplified by up to 1000 times (quality over quantity). However, he can also thin out magical power into threads so thin that they are undetectable by magical artifacts. Both extremes allow him to bypass various types of magic drain.

    5. Healing/Curse-Breaking: A higher-level version of the dark knights' naturally accelerated self-healing; Cid is able to instantly heal light to severe wounds on himself and others, which includes older scars as well. He's also able to do this with larger groups. His curse-breaking, which breaks the possession of Diablos or rather the rampage of Diablos cells in living bodies, is largely the result of reckless experimentation and throwing a lot of magic at the problem. But hey, whatever works.

    6. I Am Atomic: His signature move, I Am Atomic, is the result of his obsession with trying to survive a nuclear blast -- if you can't beat 'em, join 'em. In other words, rather than trying to stop a nuclear blast, he decided to become a nuclear blast, because that makes total sense. This is more or less the instantaneous release of magic compressed in #4 and results in an explosion of magical energy that can be destructive but can also be used for other ends due to its potency. He has a few variations of just destroying everything and making a large crater; but Recovery is a healing application that can heal large groups despite damaging structures, and apparently counteracts vampiric powers; Sword is basically a superextension of his usual sword technique that can slice everything in a wide area; and so on and so forth.

    OTHER

    1. Slime Jelly: The discovery of slime-based combat accessories is one of Cid's greatest magical breakthroughs -- slimes are 99% conductive to magic, allowing any magical power infused into them to be used with very little loss. By crushing slime cores and refining them into slime jelly, he was able to create a pretty much all-in-one magical material. This can be used for attack, defense, disguise, accessorizing, and a pretty much unlimited variety of other applications. Shadow Garden and Cid himself tend to use slime bodysuits (magic-infused slime jelly is able to withstand attacks proportional to the magic in them, which makes them pretty great if you have enough magic) as well as slime swords (similar to the bodysuits, infusing these with magic strengthens them and allows them to extend either in length or in width, making them extremely versatile for slicing shit up or breaking everyone else's swords), slime tentacles (sometimes you just want some slimy murder whips I guess) and slime projectiles (you can actually snipe people with these, but he doesn't really use them that much). All of these can also be compressed and stored in easily portable forms on the user's person. For slime-based weird biology things please see Magic #2.

    2. Magical Wires: True to the name, these are just wires infused with magic and used to entrap and slice through opponents that get caught in the web. I'm mostly putting this here to document that he can fight with stuff other than swords if he really feels like it, because sometimes you have to change it up for the greater good(?).

    MANDATORY QUESTIONS
    - Of all the things you own or have owned, what is the most important to you?

[As Shadow, eyes blinking red because he's a melodramatic dipshit:]

The things I hold are what is most important to me. Nothing I wish to grasp can slip through my fingers. That is what we call the cage of night.

    [As Cid, scratching his head:]

Magic? Magic. It could be any kind of supernatural power, but it's magic.

    - Where is it you feel most at peace, or most whole?

[As Shadow, probably like gazing off into the moon or something and dramatically swirling magic around his fingers while swirling a glass of wine:]

Strength, you could say, is the freedom to be at peace with oneself and the world -- there is nothing on heaven or earth that can move you unless you wish it to.

[As Cid, who is probably the one with the useful answers here:]

I feel like that's a loaded question? There's something loaded about it. Eh, I'm going to answer anyway: it's a hot spring. I wouldn't mind if every vacation hit a hot springs resort.

    - Describe what gives you the most strength.

    [Shadow be like:]

    Didn't I just answer this.

[Cid, who is still the one actually bothering with the question:]

This one feels metaphorical. Deep. I wouldn't call myself a metaphorical or deep guy, you know? Strength is strength. I guess the only one that can guarantee you strength is yourself? Strength comes from within something something...

Hmmm. That's not a bad answer.

    OPTIONAL QUESTIONS
    - What is more important to you: embracing your individuality, or preserving the status quo?

    [Shadow, instantly:]

    Individuality.

    [Cid, also instantly:]

    Individuality.

    - Ultimate power comes at the cost of community. Being a part of a community comes at the cost of great power. Which would you choose?

    [Shadow, instantly:]

    Ultimate power.

    [Cid, less instantly:]

I mean, you always have to give something up, right? Both sound kind of like a pain, if you ask me.

    - Do you consider the rules and laws to be an important part of society? How so?

[Shadow, spreading his arms and letting his cloak flutter because he's a melodramatic dipshit:]

Rules and laws may be what hold society together, but there are many who live outside of both. That is where the deepest shadows reside.

    [Cid, shrugging:]

I mean, yeah? Otherwise it's anarchy and stuff. If you go out into the sticks even in the Kingdom of Midgar, you'll see...

    - Have you ever made a promise you can't keep?

[Shadow rests his cheek on a hand. Smiles.]

The wisdom of the shadows is not so easily overcome.

[Is that it?? That's it. Please stand by for Cid (Useful Answers Version) (maybe):]

I'm just a little ol' baron's son, so there's a lot of things I can't do. I try not to make promises I can't keep, especially to people of higher rank than me. It definitely doesn't mean I won't keep promises to people of lower rank. I'm a student making an honest living. Studying.

    - What piece of classical literature best represents you, and why?

[Shadow is silent for a long moment, seemingly reminiscing about something. (Spoilers: He's thinking about how secret bookshelves are the coolest part of having books.) His wineglass is still in his hand.]

There is a story of a count, in a land very much like the land of French. The count was wronged, trapped on an island prison, and everything he held dear was lost. The story is about how he reinvented himself and re-entered the world in order to have his revenge, with no one the wiser.

    This, too, is Shadow Wisdom.

[There's something wry about that, for whatever reason.]

[Cid cocks his head, but doesn't seem to be thinking all that hard:]

Umm, well, I'm not that good with classical lit. I'm more of an action kind of guy? They say Mitsugoshi's started releasing these things called 'comics' that are taking the world by storm...

Anyway, oral traditions count, right? One of the seven mysteries of Midgar Academy... says that in one of the most popular spots where people confess to each other, behind one of the school buildings -- was it the gymnasium? the auditorium? -- somebody once found a large amount of blood. Like, a whole person's worth. Nobody had died that year, and nobody went missing. Anyway, it's an urban legend now that you can't reject anybody in that spot or you'll be cursed? Or was it that if you confess to somebody in that spot they'll die in seven days? Probably not the second one.

Interesting, right? Word of mouth can be stranger than written fiction.

    Sage Crest: Right eye

Questions?: Mostly I'm wondering about the state of his biological enhancements and also slime. In general I don't think his physical self-modifications will be a super big factor without supporting magic, but let me know what the verdict is!

Also I guess his eyes turn red. Why do we have two characters whose eyes turn red like edgelords, let me know if his eyes would still turn red if he pushed himself magically I guess?

Also in terms of slime, I think it'd be interesting to have an adaptation period for the slime accessories/self-modifications to this world's magic -- slime magical structure is already almost impossible to adapt to human magic, so he'd just have to redo his work adapting it with a new type of magic. Something to keep him occupied. ☆

    CHARACTER
    Name: Mòrag Ladair
    Canon: Xenoblade Chronicles 2
    Canon point: Postgame
    Age: Early 20's

    History:
Heir Today, Gone Tomorrow: At birth Mòrag was named the heir to the Empire of Mor Ardain, and was groomed to be such by her uncle's family, resulting in a comprehensive education in all relevant fields. On the birth of her cousin Niall, he became the heir instead due to Mor Ardain favoring male lines of succession.
Special Inquisitor: Without resentment, Mòrag surrendered the position of heir. Instead, she put her skills and knowledge to use by training to be Special Inquisitor. This allowed her to bond with and become the Driver of Brighid, a key point in her development.
Save the World: As part of Rex's crew, Mòrag began looking beyond Mor Ardain to the future of Alrest as a whole. She assisted him to reach the Architect and defeat Malos, along with all their journey to that point.

Powers: Mòrag possesses the necessary aptitude to resonate with a Core Crystal.

    CHARACTER SURVEY
    MANDATORY QUESTIONS
    - Of all the things you own or have owned, what is the most important to you?
I don't know if I could be said to 'own' Brighid's Core Crystal -- it is, after all, a part of her, if not her essence entirely. That being said, that Core Crystal is treated as a possession of the Empire's, and came to me in my role as Special Inquisitor, so I suppose it must count enough for this purpose.

    - Where is it you feel most at peace, or most whole?
If I am being honest, I prefer being on the battlefield more than anything. I don't doubt most people would think I would answer 'Mor Ardain' to this question, but it's rare for me to draw my swords without it serving not only Mor Ardain's purposes, but most people's, these days. If I have to choose between the battlefield and Niall's side... well, on the battlefield, I'm not called upon to navigate politics, or inform partners and families of their loved one's deaths. Necessary as those duties are, I don't enjoy them, nor do they feel so directly helpful as putting an attacking creature into the dirt.

    - Describe what gives you the most strength.
My strength comes from my conviction and purpose. Those have both evolved over time, and some might say that failing to adhere to a purpose is a sign of weakness. I disagree, however. If in time, my rallying cry has gone from "for Mor Adrain!" to "for Alrest!", is that not just broader? If I am trying to help all people, and not just the Emperor, is that not in accordance with the Emperor's expressly-stated wishes? Whatever capacity I use my abilities in, I am the Special Inq

    OPTIONAL QUESTIONS

    - Ultimate power comes at the cost of community. Being a part of a community comes at the cost of great power. Which would you choose?

This is a ridiculous question. It doesn't make sense in the slightest. If power is the ability to achieve what we want, only through a community can we have it. There is a limit to what one person can achieve alone, no matter how much raw strength that person has. Malos could not have threatened Alrest so thoroughly without the devices and machines he found in Elysium. Likewise, the Aegis could not have held him off without the air of not only her friends and allies, but the efforts of whole other countries in concert. The Praetor wouldn't have been a threat had he not had all of Indol behind him. By what possible logic can anyone argue that community prevents the gain of power?

What you seem to want to say, instead, is that community prevents you from using that power in any way you wish. Again, not true. Community merely shapes what we may use to use our power for.

    - Do you forgive easily, or do you hold grudges?

I'll admit to holding an occasional grudge, though nothing that would ever interfere in my duty or responsibilities. But by the same token, I never forget, either. Even if I forgive.

Also, what do you consider taking revenge for something I've forgiven? I may forgive Zeke his flaws, mistakes, immaturity, and overall existence, but that doesn't mean I'll hesitate to take a shot at any one of them.

    - Have you ever made a promise you can't keep?

I let the Emperor die. I permitted that, directly in front of me, while I watched -- while that boy, that fool of a boy, ran out and sacrificed himself for everyone. At the time I was too broken to feel anything more than grief and terror, and then minutes later I thought I had been wrong and he had survived... but after a while, when I had time to think, I realized that Nia had lied, and only the powers she'd kept hidden had kept him alive. Or brought him back. So the failure was every bit mine, and every bit as great, as I ever thought.

I'm still working on unpackaging that one.

    - What would you describe as your weakness?

I don't consider myself to have a particular weakness.

[Of course, any sane person would point to her constant, complete refusal to be shown up in anything. Mòrag is completely aware of that trait, mind; she just considers it a strength, and proudly flaunts it. The times it has caused trouble, such as when she blew up a stove while trying to cook a fish, don't count.]

    - What is your favorite color? Why?

Blue. That's the color of Brighid's flames, after all -- proof that of all the Fire Blades out there, she alone is qualified to be the Jewel of Mor Ardain. Beyond that, if I'm being honest, I must admit that the sight of the ocean is compelling. The actual ocean, made of water, rather than the Cloud Sea.

I wonder if those who grow up never knowing anything but the water will realize how different and special it is.

    CHARACTER
    Name: Khun Aguero Agnis
    Canon: Tower of God
Canon point: End of Part I.
    Age: 17

    History:

I: The betrayal of his sister and rise of Maria

Growing up in the Khun family is notoriously cutthroat, literally, with yearly bouts for all children in the family who reach the age of ten. As one of the rare winners, Khun was allowed to wear the crest of the family and was afforded prestige. Shortly after, he was approached by one of his half-sisters for help in achieving the title of Princess in the family. As Maria was kind, caring, and compassionate, Khun grew to admire her, and decided that she deserved the title, even more so than his actual full sister. In manipulating the selection, he achieved promoting Maria to princess, by merit of his own sister's failure and by relation his mother and himself. Although the Agnes line was exiled, Khun has never regretted betraying his own family and never let on that he was the cause of their downfall.

    II. Meeting Baam

There are many reasons to climb the tower, but for Khun it is authority and power. By reaching the top which is said to grant any wish, Khun intends to take control of his family and defeat his father, Khun Eduan. In doing so he meets a boy named Baam who is naive, optimistic, and kind—all things Khun is not capable of being, but also all traits which are a weakness in the savage environment of the tower. Though he initially partners with Baam out of convenience and curiosity, Khun eventually grows to admire Baam like Maria. Eventually this leads Baam to discover what he's missing despite being "perfect", which is the realization that he can be kingmaker and king. He can keep using others, but he can only make a bond with someone and do it for their sake, not just for the sake of success.

    III. The Final Exam

In order to ensure that Baam passed the final exam to become a regular, Khun concocted a cunning and ruthless plan. First, since him and Baam were on different teams, he became leader of his own team, earned their trust, and then made them lose on purpose. Something his team remained unaware even after they had failed. In doing so, he manipulated and used not only his own teammates but also one of the Rankers of the tower through bribery, blackmail, and other underhanded means. Although he was made aware that someone wanted Rachel, who is Baam's reason for being, dead, Khun decided to use this plot to his advantage rather than truly protecting her. After all was said and done, Rachel was paralyzed from the waist down and Baam was understandably, devastated. It's at this point that Khun realized that he really hadn't changed at all.

    Powers:

Keen Intellect: Khun is extremely smart, resourceful, and a master of using people. He's a strategist through and through for better or worse, and doesn't hesitate at being ruthless.

Cunning: Bribery, blackmail, browbeating—bring it on. Having been trained from a child to use people as tools, Khun really doesn't blink at doing the dirty work. He'd rather do it than someone else who would feel remorse over it, and he has the acting skills to sell it too.

Trained Fighter: As a son of the Khun family, he has higher physical prowess in strength, speed, and endurance at baseline. He's also trained in regular combat, with his highest proficiency in knives and spears.

Lighthouse Skills: Ranked first seed for the light bearer class, Khun is capable of using multiple light houses at once and can use them to give himself an offensive and defensive boost in combat. While he hasn't mastered more advanced lighthouse skills at his canon point, he does later, due to his natural talent and ability to pick up techniques quickly.

Hacking: In canon this is via his light house, but as it's part computer, this would translate partially to other electronics.

Shinsu ability: His weakest skill, but like other regulars in Tower of God, he needs to manipulate shinsu to utilize tools and abilities. Due to his heritage, he's adept at using the ice element of shinsu, though it's something he tries to avoid given how tied it is to his father.

Hairstyling: ??? Partially a joke, but he's apparently known as the prince of hair styling and spends a large chunk of time making his hair look perfect in the morning. Come to him if you want a glam up in exchange for a favor?

    CHARACTER SURVEY
    MANDATORY QUESTIONS

    - Of all the things you own or have owned, what is the most important to you?

One of these questions, huh? The easy answer is the bandana with my family crest. It's useful to me, even now.

    - Where is it you feel most at peace, or most whole? At peace...there's really no peace in the Tower, you know. And I'm not whole even if I am perfect.

But fine, fine, if you need an answer: my lighthouse, or a good vantage point.

    - Describe what gives you the most strength.

My skills, obviously. And beyond that, the tools at my disposal. Though, one of the Testers said my confidence was taller than the Tower itself, so you can count that too.

    OPTIONAL QUESTIONS

    - Ultimate power comes at the cost of community. Being a part of a community comes at the cost of great power. Which would you choose?

Is this even a real question for me? Power. No one who climbs the Tower believes in a real community beyond temporary alliances and making it to the next level.

    - Do you consider the rules and laws to be an important part of society? How so?

They're important yeah, and they're certainly useful. But it's more important how you use them or break them than anything else.

    - Have you ever made a promise you can't keep?

All the time. There's at least one I intend to keep though.

    - What would you describe as your weakness?

Trusting others. I could never do it, but Baam does it without even thinking. That might be one of the tricks to it, huh?

    - What is your one wish or greatest desire?

To reach the top of the tower and become head of the Khun family by inherting Khun Eduan's position. It'll give me all the power I need to do anything else.

    - What is your favorite color? Why?

Blue. Doesn't it look good on me?~ I was raised to work with what I have.

    - Cats or dogs?

Dogs. They're loyal and they trust easily. It's not an easy thing to do and they never question it.

    LUNAE CALAMITAS
    Inventory:

Knife: A good old-fashioned knife, but considering Khun stole basically his entire inventory from his father's treasure hoard, it's far more durable than an average knife and extremely sharp.

Suspendium Pulley: Essentially a pulley that floats in the air due to the material it's made of. Requires shinsu to utilize.

Lighthouse: Put succinctly, a lighthouse is the primary tool of the light bearer class, which functions to scout, search, and control the battlefield. It's technologically advanced and can house the light bearer during combat, and enables them to communicate to their team over long distances. As it's made of suspendium it can float and has a light on and light off mode. It's form is of a cube, with Khun's being blue.

Note: Detailed information about lighthouses and additional usages are linked above, but I'm happy to explain if needed/the item is unnerfed.

Pocket: An all in one device, shaped as a spherical orb, that functions as an advanced smart phone with many features, such as a dictionary, translation device, wallet, and item storage. Pockets are typically invisible until they are called upon for use.

NOTE: All uses of the pocket are detailed in the wiki, like with the light house, am happy to go into detail if further clarification is needed/item is unnerfed.

Armor Inventory: Similar to a pocket, but used for storing weapons/armor. Capable of neutralizing attacks instantaneously.

NOTE: Same verse the third, let me know if you would like me to expand on this!

Sage Crest: On the palm of his right hand.

Questions?: Most of Khun's skills require Shinsu to use, along with his items. Shinsu is described as the world itself and can essentially be looked at as the energy that makes up everything (organic and inorganic) in Tower of God. As it's a canon specific term, will there be any translation involved in game?

    CHARACTER
    Name: Kazuma Kiryu
    Canon: Yakuza (Franchise)
Canon point: Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth
    Age: 55

    History:
    1. When Kiryu was 20, he was framed for a murder he didn’t commit, and there was a present threat of holding his father figure accountable for this. Kiryu couldn’t tolerate the way this struggle for power in the higher ranks of the family he belonged to would cause trouble to someone he greatly looked up to, so to solve that and to clear his name he leaves the yakuza and sets forth to figure out how to protect what he cares about. This marked the start of Kiryu’s reputation as a yakuza, and highlighted how hard he’s willing to work for the sake of his loved ones, even when there were so many people against him and so much danger threatening his life and other people’s.

    2. When Kiryu was 37, she adopted an orphaned girl she had met during rough circumstances – Haruka. Kiryu had gone through so much emotional pain he had become numb and didn’t care what happened to him, but he snapped out of it because he realized he had to look out for Haruka. From there on, he protected her as much as he could, fiercely defending her even though in the end he was unable to shield her from the burdens and problems that happen from he having been in the yakuza. This was an enormous change in his life and that spurred many of the situations that happen in the games of the saga.

    3. At 55 years old and almost at his current point, Kiryu has been diagnosed with cancer, and it’s terminal. He has less than a year of life. This is the closing chapter of the life of Kazuma Kiryu, but although he’s weaker due to this, he’s still trying his hardest to do what must be done. This shows his determination even in the face of what’s inevitable. Thankfully, despite everything, he still is very capable and won’t hold back during an adventure such as this wizards world.

Powers: No magical powers nor strange abilities, yeah. Kiryu is a brawler through and through, although that has been diminished now due to illness. He’s still a force to be reckoned, though. His fighting style is based on brute force, as well as use of the surroundings if anything is particularly useful. All in all, Kiryu knows how to use physical harm effectively and isn’t afraid to do so.
Compared to the magical powerhouses that he’ll be surrounded, he brings to the table things others perhaps don’t, even if he’s outclassed in the magical fields.
    https://yakuza.fandom.com/wiki/Kazuma_Kiryu?so=search#Fighting_Styles
This describes his fighting styles throughout the games, in detail, yup.
That aside, Kiryu shows to be pretty resourceful and quick to learn. Even though he’s outclassed when it comes to magic and powers, he probably would figure out some way to be useful.

    CHARACTER SURVEY
    MANDATORY QUESTIONS
    - Of all the things you own or have owned, what is the most important to you?
[Probably unsurprisingly, Kiryu is somewhat sparse with his answers to all the questions asked. Just going straight to the point and reticent about answering much. He doesn’t like to talk about his past extensively]>/small>
Things...? It’s not a thing and I didn’t own it and I’m not there anymore, but Morning Glory Orphanage is the most important thing. Asking for anything else is pointless. My answer won’t change.
    - Where is it you feel most at peace, or most whole?
These days there’s no place like that. Any place that would be peaceful for me is better without me there. I’m not being dramatic, that’s how it is.
    - Describe what gives you the most strength.

High stakes. I have been in too many situations where failing would make everything worse. Knowing failing is not an option is great encouragement. I’m not backing down even if everything is against me.
    OPTIONAL QUESTIONS
    - What is more important to you: embracing your individuality, or preserving the status quo?
    - Ultimate power comes at the cost of community. Being a part of a community comes at the cost of great power. Which would you choose?
The community. No power is worth that.
    - Do you consider the rules and laws to be an important part of society? How so?
That doesn’t matter if whoever tries to make the rules and laws work twists them for their own gain.
    - Do you forgive easily, or do you hold grudges?
I try not hold grudges. But I forgive only when I feel it’s deserved.
    - Have you ever made a promise you can't keep?
Too many times. I won’t talk about that.
    - Cats or dogs?
...dogs? Nothing against cats, I just see myself having a dog more than a cat, but both are fine.

    CHARACTER
    Name: Phillip Biqe Reston
    Canon: Tales of the Rays
Canon point: The last chapter of Fairy’s Requiem (arc 3), before he speaks with Ix and reads First Ix’s letters
    Age: 35

    History:
The incident in the Glasswater Woods: As a teenager, Phil invited Mileena (his childhood friend that he had a crush on) to a picnic in the Glasswater Woods while their other friend Ix was out fishing. Mileena wondered if they shouldn’t wait for Ix to get back; Phil insisted that it would be fine. It Was Not Fine. The pair was attacked by monsters, Ix showed up just in time to fend them off, and in the ensuing chaos Ix’s mirristry went out of control and Mileena ended up taking the backlash. When faced with an unconscious Ix and Mileena, in a fit of jealousy (because Ix was everything Phil could never be) Phil stabbed Ix with a shard of his broken mirrage. Ix came to right as this happened, and while he wasn’t angry, it was effectively the end of their friendship as Phil ran off to the capitol and never responded to Ix’s letters.

The Kaleidoscope and the Voidstorm: After Ix’s death at the hands of the Bifrost Empire, Phil helped Mileena create and construct the Kaleidoscope, a magical weapon of mass destruction that they fired indiscriminately on Bifrost, destroying the country and killing almost all of its citizens. However, the use of the Kaleidoscope allowed the Voidstorm to break containment and engulf the world—though Phil deployed the Aegis System (a sort of magical shield) in a desperate attempt to protect it, everything save for a small region surrounding Sellund was wiped out and all of the people in the destroyed portions were reduced to animus particles trapped in an unending purgatory within the Voidstorm itself. Ever since that day, Phil has blamed himself for what happened and has devoted what is left of his life to attempting to save what little remains of the world.

Exoflecting Third Ix: The unexpected death of the second Ix at the hands of the Salvation Front left Phil and Mileena with a very big problem, namely the loss of Ix’s mirrage. And since the mirrage couldn’t be exoflected without Ix, Phil exoflected the third Ix as a replacement for the second. But not only did Phil not tell Ix that he was an exoflection, he took it upon himself to fundamentally alter this Ix’s memories and personality to make him more timid and anxious in the hopes that it would prevent anything like the Glasswater Woods incident from coming to pass again… all because he was too ashamed to face the truth. Needless to say, Ix doesn’t take any of this well when he finds out, and in an attempt to atone for what he did, Phil tells Ix that he is welcome to kill him once the world is saved.

Powers: deep breath I’M SO SORRY FOR THIS ENTIRE SECTION…
Mirristry, the Tales of the Rays version of magic that utilizes special mirrors known as “mirrages” as a sort of focus. As the current Biqe of Sellund, Phil is the most powerful mirrist in the world, specializing in the Fusion type of mirristry. While the exact extent of what mirristry is able to do is unfortunately never made clear in canon (WHY IS RAYS LIKE THIS!!!!), we do get to see a number of the things it’s capable of, so I’ll detail those.

The primary ability of a mirrist is what is known as exoflection, or the arte of effectively creating objects (including actual living creatures) out of nothing by projecting their imagination through their mirrage and making it physical by granting it anima. The size of the objects that can be exoflected is limited only by the individual mirrist’s power; with the help of an amplification device, it is possible for a single powerful mirrist to exoflect even an entire continent, for example. As to what a mirrist can exoflect, it has to either be something they can picture in their mind (i.e., Phil would not be able to exoflect a car or a cell phone because he has no idea what those are) or something that is in front of them for them to be able to duplicate.

Mirrists are able to summon a sort of familiar known as a mirrite, which is basically an exoflection of a portion of their own heart. Mirrites share an anima link with their mirrist, meaning that the mirrite is able to feel their mirrist’s emotions, and if the mirrist dies, the mirrite will die as well. If a mirrite “dies” while their mirrist is still alive, however, they return to their mirrist’s heart and can simply be resummoned. Mirrists are only able to have one mirrite at a time (unless they detach them, which is a whole other kettle of fish). Phil’s mirrite is named Marcus; the two of them have been together for twenty years at this point and have a very close relationship. Obviously Marcus will not be here with him, though!

Phil is also capable of creating the equivalent of a pocket dimension within his heart known as a virtual mirror field. Normally, in order to maintain one, a mirrist must either remain within the field or leave their mirrite there instead, but Phil is specifically stated to be one of only two people powerful enough to be able to maintain a field without needing to be in it or leave his mirrite within the field in his stead.

He can open transfer gates/circles, which are exactly what they sound like: a teleportation circle that sends anyone who goes through it to a specific destination. It is noted in canon that both opening and using transfer gates/circles puts a significant strain on the body of the person casting or utilizing them, however, and they take some time to cast. (At one point Phil opens a bunch of them in rapid succession without any sort of preparation beforehand and completely KOs himself by doing so.)

His combat artes are quite versatile, encompassing artes of all elements, and his Itenkiyou ability allows him to temporarily shield himself while casting. However, it’s worth noting that one thing Phil DOESN’T seem to be able to do is heal, as his playable kit has no healing abilities (outside of a couple of artes having very minor self-heal/damage conversion properties) and at one point in canon he mentions wanting to have healers on hand while he’s performing a delicate mirristry procedure on someone else, implying that he himself isn’t capable of healing if things come down to that.

Basically, if it isn’t healing and it can be done with mirristry, Phil can do it. However, the drawback is that Phil is quite frail health-wise thanks to the whombo combo of his innate anima deficiency and the anima contamination caused by his experiments and overusing his powers takes a physical toll on him (we’ve seen him end up coughing up blood on one occasion and collapsing with a fever on another after he’s pushed himself too hard)—he’s fought on the front lines all of once in canon and it ended in disaster and him being told that he’s not allowed to do that again. He’s capable of unleashing awe-inspiring amounts of power, but it comes at a not-insignificant price for him.

    MANDATORY QUESTIONS
    - Of all the things you own or have owned, what is the most important to you?

My mirrage-- it’s the proof that I am qualified to be a mirrist. That title is the one thing that I hold most dear.

    - Where is it you feel most at peace, or most whole?

It isn’t exactly a place, but… I always feel safe by Marcus’ side. It’s only natural, of course… he is my mirrite, after all. He’s always looked after me ever since I first summoned him.

… ha. It’s funny… I can’t even remember what it was like to not have him around.

    - Describe what gives you the most strength.

Wanting to save the world. … is what I’d like to say, but… I’m not as noble as that. It’s true that I don’t have any intentions of dying until the world is safe, but what I need to do is to try to atone for a least a small amount of what I’ve done. I can’t die without doing that.

    OPTIONAL QUESTIONS

    - Do you forgive easily, or do you hold grudges?

I can’t say that I hold a grudge against anyone [not even Phantom], so I suppose I do forgive rather easily.

[Except himself, that is. He can forgive everyone except for himself.]

    - Have you ever made a promise you can't keep?

    Ha… haha… I think most of the promises I’ve made have been ones I haven’t kept…

    - What are you most proud of?

Achieving the title of ‘Biqe.’ I may not be very reliable as a person, but where mirristry is concerned, there’s almost nothing I can’t do.

    - What would you describe as your weakness?

Only one…? […] I’ve… never had any courage. Courage to confess to Mileena, to apologize to Ix… maybe if I’d just done those things, if I hadn’t run away and hidden in Sellund…

    - What is your one wish or greatest desire?

… to save what’s left of the world. And… to grant whatever wishes Ix may have. If I can accomplish that, then I’ll have been able to atone at least a little. That will have to be enough.

    - What animal would you want to be?

It would be nice to be a bird, to be able to take to the sky and fly wherever you wanted… I can do that in a way with the Heimdallr, but it isn’t really the same thing when you have to bring an entire crew along with you. Sometimes it would be nice to just be free… but I suppose that’s something of a selfish wish.

    - Cats or dogs?

I’ve always thought it might be nice to have a cat, but… Marcus would never allow it. And he’d be right—if I can’t even remember to feed myself, how could I possibly remember to feed a cat?

Inventory: His mirrage (the monocle he wears, which also functions as a regular monocle), his regular outfit, his mirrage comm (which won’t work for obvious reasons because other dimension), and a few doses of his medicine.

Sage Crest: On the back of his right hand.

Questions?: YES, ACTUALLY… so as I told Unkie, Phil is terminally ill and requires a special daily medicine in order to manage his condition. We agreed that he’ll have to find a way to use magic in order to achieve the same effect here, which leads me to my next question: as I mentioned above, if Phil uses too much mirristry in his own canon, it has negative physical effects on him due to his poor health. Would the same thing hold true with the magic here? I.E. if he overuses it, will it exhaust him/harm him physically? please let him continue his tradition of making Terrible Life Decisions

    CHARACTER
Name: Robin (the hierophant one. the one who's also grima and aware of it. the one without amnesia.)
    Canon: Fire Emblem: Awakening
Canon point: post-Chapter 23: Invisible Ties
Age: unknown, 30+. he's a robin, who is already an adult of ??? age in awakening, from an alternate future over 10 years in the future, plus at least 2 years plus however long the valm arc lasts in the past (his past, which is the present of the game) doing schemes and nonsense before you start accounting for also having been awakened to the whole immortal millennia old dragon deity thing. despite this age difference he looks identical to the robin in awakening proper because other characters recognize him as looking like robin's twin rather than an older sibling or something, because awakening to your immortal dragon deity self i guess grants you flawless skin or something. anyway what's a quantifiable age can you eat it, weeps into hands

    History:

    1. Being spirited away from the Grimleal as an infant by his mother. Robin was born into a cult seeking the rebirth of their god, of which his father was the head cultist. He is specifically the result of cult breeding medieval eugenics nonsense, as they were seeking to birth a child who would be able to house said god. His mother, not wanting any of this for her child, steals Robin away and raises him in seclusion, where he grows up lonely, isolated, curious, and keenly aware that he must never mention the mark on the back of his hand to people.

    2. Meeting Chrom, and becoming his friend and tactician. While the events of the original timeline differ from the ones of the timeline we play through in Awakening proper to some degree due to the lack of future time travelers intervening and meddling history and a lack of amnesia on Robin's part, it can more or less be concluded that the bond between these two plays out much the same, with them being two halves of a greater whole, do not separate sort of deal, no homo tho because IS hadn't started allowing same-sex S supports yet. Lucina says that her father was killed by his closest friend, and even the first memory we see of the Robin who became Grima is of him shoving Chrom out of the way of an enemy's attack, except...

    3. Being forced to kill Chrom. This is probably the most pivotal difference between the doomed future and the new timeline. Chrom dying, and Robin being the one to cause it not of his own will immediately after just having taken a hit for him, is probably the key moment where 'Robin' dies and 'Grima' takes hold. Whether or not you think Grima and Robin were separate beings and the former's simply possessing the latter or whether Robin is more or less Grima's reborn soul without memories prior to them merging, it's clear enough that the entity who calls themselves both Grima and Robin did, and still does, care deeply for Chrom. The version from the Future Past timeline says they buried Chrom themselves, and the Risen King Chrom that crops up in various extra materials is significantly better preserved than the other risen that Grima has control over.

    Powers:
Magic. Honestly the worst thing about Robin is that he has the FFXIV WOL problem of being able to swap to and learn the skills of any of the job classes ingame, but for the sake of having a reasonable skillset and not one that's geared up to challenge the hardest challenge DLC on the highest difficulty, we're keeping mostly to what he's displayed with commonly in materials outside of the game. Ergo, Robin is primarily a mage who's good with a sword. Or a swordsman who's good with magic? Either or. He can use both anima (elemental magic like wind, fire, thunder, ice) and dark magic with a clear degree of skill, with some amount of favor for thunder and dark. No light magic though, because it doesn't seem to exist in Awakening.

Veteran. That said, with the whole 'can do any job classes he likes' thing, Robin's innate passive in canon is essentially 1.5x exp gain as long as he's paired to someone. Basically he's a pretty quick study if he needs to learn how to ride a horse or start throwing knives fast, or something. This is the only one of his passives... well, only one of two I can really easily figure in a narrative sense instead of a purely game mechanics one, though I can probably get creative for a couple more.

Swordsmanship. Is it magical or supernatural if sometimes the sword is a magic lightning sword?

Reviving the dead??? It's unclear, okay. He either got to a guy right as he was dying and told the reaper no or something because he still needed the guy, or he got to the guy when he was very newly dead and yoinked him back to life (because he still needed the guy). I have no idea if this was healing fatal wounds from right at the cusp of death, resuscitation, or just flat out resurrection. The dialogue says the guy was straight up killed, so I? Guess????? Also this is somewhat complicated by but not to be mixed up or confused with-

Control over Risen. The Risen are masked (usually) zombies animated by bugs called thanatophages. He can command these. Yeah.

Dragonskin. Not literal, probably, but like. He's more generally resistant to damage and other ailments than he otherwise would appear. In Awakening this is a passive that cuts all damage received in half, nullifies statuses and instakills, etc etc, and its occurrences in other games in the series are pretty much along the same lines. This applies to the human body, I mean. I haven't started on the dragon one yet. Speaking of...

The Whole. Dragon God Thing. In Shadows of Valentia he's one of two enemies classed as a God unit, which ... functionally in that particular game just means he's weak to Anti-God weaponry and skills, but hey. In Awakening Future Robin awakens the present Grima's body and more or less has the human body serve as proxy to the giant dragon one! Because the giant dragon one is really big which is probably unwieldy when you want to deliver dramatic speeches and monologues. The dragon is him and he is the dragon. He can fly! He can breath dark fire and or control spiky nonsense? He was created from the blood of a divine dragon and there is so much bullshit the dragons who have the power to be considered as gods in Awakening are capable of, including but not limited to: talking into the minds of people who share their blood! Facilitating time travel! Jumping dimensions! Not dying when killed! Oh, right, Grima doesn't die when killed by anyone other than himself, he just falls into a 1000 year slumber, and even that's difficult to achieve considering the descendants of a specific bloodline sourcing from the OTHER local dragon god have to be baptized in fire from said god to gain the power to do this. Anyway have I mentioned that Dragon Big. Dragon is so big. Entire army can fit on back big. Bigger than an entire capital city big. Imagine a humongous ass dragon. Okay, now make it bigger.

War Tactics. Anyway this one isn't magical or supernatural but it sure is notable so it's probably extraordinary. He's still Robin. He still knows strategy. He might not have as much use of it when he's a giant lizard with overwhelming amounts of sheer power compared to his opposition, but he's still entirely capable of strategizing his way through engagements of various sizes, as well as generally knowing what to look out for in terms of assessing locations and others for possible threats, routes of ingress/egress, ambush points, the serving staff in the palace who are trying real hard to conceal their weapons, etc etc.

His sheer sense of drama should also be in a class of its own, honestly. Stupid chuuni lizard. Maybe if he acts and performs hard enough he can even manage to fool himself, most of the time. I mean, what? What regrets does he have. None, obviously. He doesn't care. Don't dare pity him, he doesn't need it.

    CHARACTER SURVEY
    MANDATORY QUESTIONS
    - Of all the things you own or have owned, what is the most important to you?
Material items cease to be of concern in the face of eternity, especially when it will all be destroyed someday. Perhaps one might be able to muster a token argument about my books, whether tomes, tactics, or otherwise... but those too, I have passed on. I've hardly any need of them anymore.

    - Where is it you feel most at peace, or most whole?
What a ridiculous question to ask a being of destruction. Do you realize how absurd that sounds? As if the Breath of Ruin knows anything of peace. Hah.

It is fleeting, regardless. Any periods of peace are simply the result of humanity deluding itself that their base instincts aren't to struggle fitfully against each other for the pettiest of reasons after trying and failing to maintain their fragile peace.

    - Describe what gives you the most strength.
Hahaha. Now, what is it that would motivate you to ask such a question, I wonder? Do you ask this, hoping to glean some form of weakness with which to assail me with? Or perhaps you wish to gain some sort of insight on what it is that fuels a god?

But very well, I am in an indulging mood. It isn't so pithy as faith, I will tell you that much. I am what humanity created me to be, but I will be their ruin regardless of whether or not they believe in it.

    OPTIONAL QUESTIONS
    - What is more important to you: embracing your individuality, or preserving the status quo?
The status quo? At the end of all things, all are equal in death, but somehow, I don't quite believe that is what you're speaking of.

    - Ultimate power comes at the cost of community. Being a part of a community comes at the cost of great power. Which would you choose?
I have already chosen godhood, and all those I once called friend lie dead in the ruins of their countries now. Is that not answer enough for you?

    - Do you consider the rules and laws to be an important part of society? How so?
Societies rise and fall through the ages, and the rules they create with them. The only laws that persist are those that exist in nature: for one to gain something, someone else must lose it. One man's happiness is built on the sorrow of another's. Yet people will so quickly forget these simple truths, or worse think themselves above them.

    - Do you forgive easily, or do you hold grudges?
The Fell Dragon does not forget. Remember that, lest you make an enemy you'll soon regret.

    - Have you ever made a promise you can't keep?
[ perhaps tellingly, he does not answer this question at all, and will answer any attempts to prod him about it with a dark look... or a dangerously sharp, mirthless grin.

probably better not to press. ]

    - What are you most proud of?
Oh? Do you wish for me to regale you with a list of my achievements? Shall I talk about the wars I've waged, the kingdoms I've toppled? The blood I've spilled? Go on, tell me. Exactly what is it that you'd like to hear about?

    - What would you describe as your weakness?
Oh, so you are seeking to divine a deity's weaknesses after all! I might almost be impressed by the sheer audacity of it. But perhaps it might also behoove you to learn that fortune doesn't always favor the bold.

    - What animal would you want to be?
Is a dragon not sufficiently inhuman for you now? If it must be anything at all, then a predator of some sort at the very lest. I have no desire to attempt to present myself convincingly as a prey species.

    - What arcana best represents you? Why?
[ we are pretending he either has a passing knowledge about them or that someone explained them briefly to him for this ] Is it a little too ... on the nose, one might say, if I claim 'Death' as the arcana that best represents me for this exercise?

As for why? Surely you can divine the answer to that one yourself. Perhaps seek counsel from the rest of these cards for assistance; that is how they're meant to be used, is it not?

    - Cats or dogs?
... Dogs, if I must. I suppose I can understand the appeal in a creature who will so faithfully follow orders regardless of what is done to it. That sort of loyalty can be considered quite endearing, can't it?

    LUNAE CALAMITAS
    Inventory:
    - sword (probably a Levin Sword since they love making the magic lightning sword Robin's Thing as opposed to any other sword he could use)
    - spell tome (Grima's Truth, probably)
    - the clothes on his back?

Sage Crest: up to you where his second special magical brand is! please note that the back of his right hand is already taken by the six eyes of the brand of the defile, see icon, so it might get a little crowded there if it ends up anywhere near.

Questions?: none at the moment but if anything comes up I am prepared to run screaming to the mods. he is also apparently, as I have discovered, very much a dramatic ass performer and liar who refuses to give a straight answer so if y'all need me to expand on some of these answers just holler at me and I will do so.

PAIR CLAUSE: I am preemptively so sorry for whoever gets paired to this bastard and am preparing my formal apologies now.
